Nothing much in the batam center expect for the cheaper items/food and the massage. I really loved it at Radisson Hotel! The hotel is ideal if you want to have R&R. They have some activities too (archery, segway, golf)

It's a poor area so it's not a tourist destination.
It's a poor area so it's not a tourist destination. Perhaps other parts of Batam are more interesting to see, but I was just passing through. It's not easy to get around unless you have apps like GoJek or Grab as you'd have an easier time getting a good price that way than getting extorted negotiating with locals when they see a foreigner (which I get because of local economics, but still).

If gate closed n u missed it, u have to queue up again buying ferry ticket for the next boarding again...wah.. what a queue i have never experience going to batam so many times

Nagoya is a must-visit on every trip to Batam. However, it gets tiring seeing the same shops hawking the same stuff year after year. Nagoya needs to inject some more life into the area, but Penuin / Baloi is by far more refreshing to stay with hip cafes and bars coming up in that area. Massive indoor foodcourt expands to outdoors when it gets dark, but be wary paying exhobitant food charges there for street food standard. Although the stall selling roast pork was great, a portion for six came to SGD20 (which is pretty cut-throat for Batam standards). Be wary of scammers who would literally come up to you on their motorcycles on the road and claim they had had their wallets/bags stolen and need a ferry ticket or at least the cost of a ferry ticket to Singapore. We were approached quite a few times this way. Be alert and street-smart.

There are flying fox, go kart, amusement centre Nagoya City Mall, kepri mall, wey wey seafood, BCS mall, Illusion 3D and much much more! Eska Spa is a must try! 3D 2N for us as a family with 2 kids is definitely not enough :)

Room: Spacious room. King sized bed was comfortable. Hotel provided extra pillows FOC when requested. Breakfast: Variation/spread was there but was catered more towards the Muslim guests (which is completely understandable); just a note for people with other food preferences.
