Everything! From check in to check out the staff were amazingly accommodating, happy and welcoming. The hotel itself has a cozy, comfortable feel with a large living area where you can gather on comfy sofas and chairs to eat a meal or enjoy a bottle of wine. It rained a lot while we were there which was no bother because we had the lovely living area to lounge in. Our breakfasts were included and, by far, were the most delicious we've ever been served at any hotel. Akaya is a 5 minute walk to the beach and central to shopping or browsing in shops. Akaya Bali is Sanur's best kept secret hotel.

    Sanur has a huge variety of fantastic Warungs.

    Sanur has a huge variety of fantastic Warungs. It is getting very busy these days with too many shops that all sell the same. The shuttle bus is very handy. The beach site is really nice and perfect for early morning walks and see the sun rise. A lot of noise and dust in the main street due to changing the water mains and digging up the foot paths.

    Great city to explore... wish we would have had more time to look around. Everyone we met or talked to were very friendly and kind. Highly recommend. Be prepared to spend time in a vehicle as the traffic is a challenge at best. We went to one of the local malls, enjoying it immensely.

    I went to a restaurant: WARUNG KLUMPU DENPASAR very close to the hotel. They had excellent atmosphere good food and if I stayed longer I would have come back. So please try and experience it yourself!

    Denpasar is often overlooked and yet has so much to offer.

    Denpasar is often overlooked and yet has so much to offer. There is history, culture, good food and places with open space, great views and room to walk if you know where to look. It's also a great base from which you can visit other areas and enjoy unique experiences with little travel time. If you are after a unique Balinese experience without wall to wall tourists, do a little research and you may find that Denpasar has a lot to offer.

    It was easy to get around but little to do nearby. A great turtle conservation centre that will keep most people occupied for up to an hour. It's very easy to get to the ports - one of the best port experiences I've had in Bali where you aren't overwhelmed by people trying to / demanding they order you taxis or sell you things.

    Great restaurants. Great paths along beach. Super mall with designer shops. Felt safe. Downside would be they are digging up the pavements which will be good for future travellers but was quite hazardous presently.

    Absolutely loved Denpasar, you felt that you were amongst the local of Bali and it was nice to see this part of Bali. I would definitely recommend visit Denpasar and experience the true Bali and engage with the local Balinese and Indonesian people. We will love to visit here again.
