The staff were really great, especially Maria, and breakfast had western, Javanese and vegan options. The western breakfast was fruit, toast, juice, omelette and jams every day. The Javanese option was different every day but always very good. The room was very good and there was an ensuite. Air conditioning was excellent. Note, however, it was a homestay and did not have the facilities that one would expect from a hotel room. Nevertheless a very interesting place different from other locations favoured by westerners.

Compared to other hotel/guesthouses we have stayed in Sumatra/Java, this hotel was amazing. And that for a decent price. Finally a room which was actually clean. The lobby feels luxurious and the room did too. 2 hand towels, 2 small towels, 2 big towels and shower utilities. Coffee and tea, a kettle and mini fridge the room. The blankets and pillows very comfortable. The location was not in the city centre but was perfect for us. We ended up booking 1 night extra and stayed for 3 nights in total.

I didn’t expect anything in the beginning with such budget price but after stayed, I think that this guest house must be the best in Java. I have lived in Indonesia for decades and I know what the quality of budget hotels are in Java, which are normally very dirty and staff never care the guests after checked in. This guest house offers free Nescafé.. this was the first time for me to see the Nescafé in budget hotel in Java. ( Normally budget hotel offers local coffee only) Nice surprise.

Lovely boutique type resort with all modern amenities. Loved the cottage I was in. Big and spacious. This was the at the end of the property. Away from the pool. Lovely to sit on the veranda and read. There is an homely atmosphere everywhere. Staff are very helpful. Food was excellent for me. I like Indonesian / Javanese food so was quite happy to have what was on the menu. They even went out of the way to prepare a local dish specially for me called "nasi liwet".

The hotel environment is set like a Javanese old kampong. I really liked the ambience and atmosphere. It located far from the city, so it is very natural. With the sound of the crickets and frogs around, I feel like staying at my grandma’s house. It was literally brought my memories back to the 80s when we have not yet touched by heavy technology. The service was also extraordinary. The receptionist even eagerly helped receiving a food package for me, hours before my arrival.

Charming oasis in the middle of Yogjakarta. This Javanese-colonial style house is a pearl in the middle of the city with the best breakfast that we have taken so far in Indonesia. This is a family-run hotel, the owner sits from time to time in the veranda to exchange nice conversations with the guests, which makes truly the difference. The indoor patio is lush in greenery, the rooms spotless clean and snacks are served your disposal during the whole day. We will repeat!

Snooze were our first stop of our travels in Indonesia and made us feel so at home and safe. All staff were always willing to answer all of our (many) questions and were so so helpful when a planning the rest of our trip around Java/Bali. We only stayed for 2 nights but by the time we left, it felt as if we were leaving home. The breakfast was amazing and the room was perfect and clean. Would highly recommend to anyone spending time in Yogyakarta.

Best hostel we stayed in Indonesia so far. Brandnew, just opened in 2019 before the pandemic. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful with everything. They help you organizing everything e.g. the train tickets, the night trip to the Ijen crater (company „ijen.everyday“ only on instagram, price per pax 400k all inclusive). They also give you great recommendations for restaurants, what to do around Banyuwangi as well as the whole Java island

Hotel Cerha is a newly renovated old building with Artdeco touch. All pieces of furniture are high quality, the staff is kind and professional, there is excellent coffee and a large and rich breakfast. They have an exceptional collection of books about Javanese culture and sights. A good Padang food resto, Aroma Baru and the "gudeg-street" is in walking distance, as well as the palace, the Sonobudoyo Museum and Jl. Malioboro.

Top-notch hospitality, all the staff were friendly and helpful. The Javanese architecture was beautiful. Overlooking the village and Borobudur temple. There were plenty of vegetarian dishes to choose from and they were delicious - though one dish marked as vegetarian had anchovies, not a problem for me and easy to separate from the dish. The Dadar Gulung - Indonesian coconut pancakes were delicious.

The hotel was very good,and I can enjoy to stay there coz the is near restaurant and Paris Van Java Mall,,hallo customer service before this, you are ever send me an email about fund for my cancelation at Superblok reservation 4044464254, but until now I didn't receive it, it's a joke or some kind of empty promise,soory now I can't send your email and than I use to contact you,thank you

Everything was just great. The room is clean, reasonably spacious, and well equipped. Swimming pool has always been great since our first visit many years ago. Breakfast at Kemangi is superb. Many varieties including traditional javanese health drinks and cakes. Continental, american, asian, and indonesian breakfasts are available. Staff have been the strong point of this Hyatt. Very attentive.

This property is centrally located with lots of interesting shops and things to see in the area. Just outside the hotel you will find coffee shops and local students enjoying coffee into the evening. The people in this area  are very friendly, and we walked around at night with no issue. The staff were friendly but not overly attentive, par for the course at this price range in Java IMO.

Room was runned down. Light from the front door shines into the room throughout the night. Not enough power points at reachable areas to charge devices. Breakfast was a score of below 5. Overcooked plasticky fried eggs. Instant coffee?! This is Indonesia! There should be a decent cup of Java! Only saving grace is the staff and the monument right next to it! Great service!

A perfect retreat in the Java Jungle. Rice fields beneath your villa. Remote and beautiful. We got free room upgrade. The breakfast was very rich. Like above 5 star hotel ! Friendly and useful stuff. Helped us with Ijen tour, private dish request, java chilly seeds, special tea request. Perfect location to took drone/camera field rice workers.

This was our first time to Java and we felt so good staying here the first night that we decided to stay here for the last two nights as well. When we shared our opinions with the hotel, they patiently listened to customers' opinions and actively faced and dealt with them, which moved us very much. Thank you for giving us great memories!

Great location, wonderful atmosphere and superb location quiet yet central in Bogor. Perfect place to land and get accustomed to Indonesia and only 1,5 hour drive from International airport. Owner is very responsive online, and can arrange next stays in other cities in Java and will arrange drivers as you require. Professional, friendly.

Sleepy Raccoon felt more like a home than a hostel, and Muk treated us like we’re family. Could not have asked for a better hostel for our first time in Java: cozy, well stocked kitchen, close to Malioboro, clean beds and bathrooms and extremely helpful staff. I will definitely be back at Sleepy Raccoon every time I’m at Yogyakarta!

The architecture and design are impeccable. It's a cool place to hang out. The tent itself was comfortable and modern. We appreciated the vegan options at the restaurant (Java is not easy for vegans). My partner liked the spa. They helped us with Ijen transport and pointed us to a local doctor for the Ijen health certificate.

The room was generally clean and comfortable. The restaurant (Atmosphere) served daily local cuisine breakfast (e.g., Bali, Central Java) and had a pretty decent food selection for lunch, dinner and room service. Hotel was located within 10-mins car ride from Aeon Mall and ICE (convention centre).
