To begin with, I would say that the overall hospitality offered by the Front Office Manager, Guest Relation Officer and Front Office team were completely exceptional. I received a text from Ms Jeslin a week before my departure to Jakarta and she introduced herself as the dedicated Guest Relation Officer cum personal point of contact during my stay with the Grand Platinum Hotel. We had a chat and I made a few requests regarding the stay i.e. wheelchair for my mum upon arrival at the hotel and room with a nice view, since this is my parents first trip to Jakarta. To make it more special, it was a belated birthday trip for my father. Little did I know, the team prepared a wonderful surprise for us upon our arrival at the hotel and the cute decoration with thoughtful wishes for us at our room. There was even a welcome card by the Front Office Manager (Tan) on our bed. We really love all the doodles on the mirrors that they did. Looking at all these, we nearly forgotten the tiring journey that we had from Bandung to Jakarta. Well, it didn't stop there. Jeslin also texted me if everything is fine and if we need their assistance throughout our stay. My parents really love the ambience of the hotel, the hospitality, the spacious room and the breakfast spread albeit our short stay. Variety of scrumptious food offered for the breakfast and we really enjoyed it. We received a nice Java batik pouch with thank you card from the team upon check out. Thank you very much to Tan and our Guardian Angels i.e. Maya, Jeslin, April and Mega for the awesome hospitality throughout our stay. We truly appreciate it. We will definitely repeat this trip and stay at the Grand Platinum hotel.

Upon arrival at the hotel, everything was amazing. We were greeted with a cold towel and lovely fresh drink. We were then taken to our (upgraded!) room and offered a tour of the hotel grounds to get the lay of the land. The buildings and facilities are absolutely gorgeous and unique. Upon completion of the tour, we sat down for the included afternoon tea service at Babah Koffie which was so much more than I was expecting - it was almost like a meal! We had dinner at the other restaurant in the hotel, Jajaghu Restaurant. The green prawn curry and butter chicken curry dishes were wonderful! Breakfast the next morning was included and was also amazing. The coffee was to die for and we purchased some bags of coffee beans from their shop to take home. They allowed us a late check out and we also booked 30 minute massages for each of us, which were much more extensive than I was expecting. The back/neck massage was perfect before our long evening flight home. Wish we had booked a longer stay here!

Staying in Jakarta was a wonderful experience; I had the opportunity to make a short visit to Yogyakarta during the weekend, and the transportation network to reach every corner of Jakarta was fantastic from City centre. You get plenty of eating places in Jakarta, however, most of the time I was changing between different places inside Grand Indonesia.

Sunrise in Borobudur was excellent. This is a must-do. Prambanan Temples is also a must visit for the spiritual energy experience. In Kraton Yogyakarta we learned the cultural values and traditions of the Javanese people and the peaceful inter-connections between Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims.

Bandung is just so packed when the peak season hits: national holiday, long weekend, religious festival, at. You don't wanna spend hours in traffic just to get to your nearby destination. So avoid peak season. We camw to Bandung by Whoosh. Getting to our hotel was a bit overwhelming due to traffic.

Even if you only think of it as an airport transit station, you should at least be able to wash and shower, but it doesn't. The shower head, which is fixed to the wall and has a lot of rust, barely works.

My last visit to Surabaya was about 10 years ago.

My last visit to Surabaya was about 10 years ago. The city had transformed to be nicer and cleaner. Shopping malls were excellent now, cleaner. Keep it up. Surprisingly bluebird taxis were still available, but driver's honesty was questionable at times (meter rates).

Everything is perfect but only one thing that I have really uncomfortable. That is internet connection !!!!! I can not fully watch YouTube or Netflix bt my laptop. Wifi signal continously has drorpped so it is very difficult to watch any streaming. Even I have to access to my company web for working. Something is happened. I can not work because very low level of internet connection and internet speed. I didn't have any internet issue when I was in Jakarta and Borgor during similar times (I was in jakarta and borgor one week ago) If you have to do something with internet, I can not recommend this hotel. It is very very terribles

Malang was definitely an amazing experience. we walked downtown and visited the heritage village, what an amazing place!! we also went to this beautiful restaurant called ( SaigonSan ) which looks like a temple form the inside . the food is really good and unexpectedly affordable. and of course would recommend the Bromo, Ejin and Tumpak sewu tours . otally worth it especially the waterfalls

A nice city with outdoors options for entertainment. A magnificent botanical garden. eating, shopping and facilities, gyms and wellness centers. Nice wide roads with lovely architecture and vegetation. Close by the volcanos and thee plantations ideal for day trips.

Authentic introduction to a broad Javanese experience from traditional markets to modern shopping malls. Ancient palaces , streets packed with carts and traders , a look into the past. Very safe with smiles and welcomes everywhere . Truly lovely people , helpful and kind, anyone we came into contact with, staff, shop keepers, drivers - whatever - were overwhelmingly polite and caring with manners and curtesy . Plenty to see in the area. A day trip to Prambanan a pleasant 90 minutes through interesting landscape.

ijen is pretty much overrated, it's a nice 6-hour-ish hike with above medium difficulty, the flame is underwhelming which is slightly bigger than a camp fire and the crater? go to Bromo instead. With the current volcano incident related to the Brazilian tourist, I am more convinced that people should be aware of tour guide's quality and training in East Java. Upon reading some brief information about traveling to Ijen, I found to mandatory in getting a guide, I went there alone and caught weird looks from other guides, some avoided my interactions when they found out I was alone, some others was good and paying attention.
