- There're water dispensers along the corridor with which you can fill the empty jugs provided in the room. May inconvenient some to leave their rooms but I think it's win-win since you don't have to rely on the two finite water bottles in other hotels which you have to bother Room Service to replenish and save on plastic usage - Room Service is responsive via Whatsapp - Friendly and helpful staff - Varied breakfast buffet with menu changes

Really nice rooms well kept, bathroom was clean nice shower, main courtyard is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful really went above and beyond to care for the guests. Location is perfect walking distance to nice restaurants but still very quiet tucked away from the main strip.

Overall, I had a great experience with Marriott, staff was incredibly accommodating, and the amenities were great specially the Pool area. And for the breakfast, they have a good ambiance with amazing food and good service. I enjoyed my meal due to there are a lot of food choices and all taste wonderful. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect for relaxation and/or for weekend getaway. Highly recommended!

The breakfast was amazing, the shower was nice, i liked how quiet the place was. There was no music in the elevator or blasting at the beer garden which was wonderful. The beer garden was also very nice. The bed was comfy. The lighting in the room was nice. Very relaxing hotel.

We liked basically everything in the hotel. Swimming pool is one of the best, staff is very friendly, room is great. We even got another room closer to the elevator because my wide had her ancle hurt. What we also liked is that in the restaurant young people are trained!

Mount Merapi (you can take a jeep to the summit, but I didn't), Borobudur, and Prambanan Temple are worth a visit, although the entrance fee is quite high for Asia. Maliobor Street is a must-see. Kotagede with its narrow streets, as well as the water castle and the Sultan's Palace, should be on your to-do list. Tebing Breksi might be nice in the dark, but otherwise skip it. I skipped the sights that required a drive of over 1.5 hours (Hutan Pinus Pengger, Jomblang Cave, Timang Beach, Watu Giring). The roads in Indonesia aren't that good. The Central Air Force Museum Dirgantara Mandala required an invitation, which, of course, I didn't have. Strange.

there is an outdoor food centre just nearby, the local supermarket and laundromat are about 10 minutes walking. the location is in the middle between Malioboro street and Prambanan so getting around between both were convinience. If you want to go to a bigger and classy mall it was not that far away as well by using Grab which is much cheaper to go to. Prices for food is really affordable as there are restaurants that are student friendly budget that we can enjoy.

Couldn't say much as it was a village. We didn't explore much outside the resort except eat at the restaurant nightly. The locals are friendly though but that's probably because we spoke Bahasa to them. We tried to cycle around with the free bicycles offered by our resort but it proved too strenuous as the area is hilly! Cycling downhill was fun but I couldn't say the same for cycling uphill.

A lovely city with a bit of culture, beautiful places and lovely hotels, artisan batic shops and a vibrant atmosphere. Wish we had had more time there! Loved the temples and the traditional Ramayana Ballet! And the FOOD!

I don't know what the government problem with the waste...

I don't know what the government problem with the waste management, but seriously Yogyakarta is a tourism city, yet the waste management there is so poor that you can see many waste shelters are overload and cause a bad smell when you passing by. Yogyakarta in 2025 has lost their original etnic vibes. I went there in 2019, and I felt the Javanese ethnic vibes much more dominant then. It such a shame actually. Hope the Sultan will correct this issues ASAP.
