I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Miratorre Superior in Pisa! The location is fantastic—just a 10-minute walk to the Leaning Tower and Piazza dei Miracoli, making it super convenient for sightseeing. The hotel is modern and impeccably clean, with stylish, comfortable rooms that include air conditioning, a minibar, and a flat-screen TV. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, always ready to offer tips for exploring Pisa. The breakfast, served on the terrace during nice weather, was a lovely touch with a great selection of sweet and savory options. The free Wi-Fi was reliable, and the soundproof rooms ensured a peaceful stay.

The hotel is very nice in the core of the city center. The stuff was very helpful, they gave us all information we needed in advance (about parking, ZTL, self check-in). We were coming late in the evening so we needed to self check-in, they gave us precise instructions and everything went smooth. The room was nice and cozy (and very quiet also), we had really good night sleep there and felt refreshed in the morning. The breakfast was also very good, with plenty of fresh food choices.

I never expected to have such a great hotel in such an old building. Location: perfect one. Near the parking, but also in Volterra, so you can mix you travel with sightseeing and still have your car around. Breakfast: Very good! Compared to other Italian hotels, where you get primarely sweets, here you get quite a lot more. Room: We stayed in the family room and it is huge and very specious! Air Con was working smooth and it was very pleasant.

Luca is one of a kind. Checkin is till late and that's a big advantage. Luca, the owner is there late at night to assist with the check and go over everything there is to do in the area and beyond. The room was superb. The property is immaculately kept and oozes Tuscany beauty. Huge and luxurious. Breakfast was an experience. Everything cooked and baked by Luca's wife. His mother was close by the help as well.

Pisa is a lovely historic and compact town with the obvious attractions but we used it as a base for visiting other local towns - Pontedera and Lucca - both accessed easily and cheaply by train. With more time and better weather we could have explored other towns and the coast. Walking the wall around Pisa gave us a different perspective to the town and the 'Tower' as did visiting that area at night when the buildings are nicely lit and the crowds have subsided. Anyone with an interest in scooters should visit the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera - it is chock full of Vespas (and a few motorbikes) and at 5 euros for admission, its a bargin. We also had the best cappuchino in Pontedera and half the price we were paying in Pisa which still wasnt expensive compared to UK prices!

A beautiful little town to vitit in one day but a tourist trap in some ways.Mediocre glass of wine for €9 and platters with mediocre cold cuts and cheese platter. Let me give a little advice to the many tourists who want to discover Italian food: GO TO THE SOUTH (I want to say that I am not from the south), it's a little weird to see so many tourists eating pizza in Tuscany. What I really liked is their local “ little salty” beer. Of course there many beautiful places not very far from Volterra worth to visit: Siena, Certaldo, San Gimignano with much nicer sorroundings (obviously it's my personal opinion).

San Miniato is a charming little village still untouched by the crowds of tourists, making it a peaceful and truly authentic place to visit. The food is excellent, and the town is renowned for its truffles, which you can enjoy in many local restaurants. It’s also an important stop along the historic Via Francigena, offering local culture and history. Reaching San Miniato is very easy—the highway is just a short distance away and connects you quickly to all the main Tuscan towns. From here, everything is within convenient reach, making it an ideal base for exploring the whole region. A perfect destination for a spring or summer week in Tuscany, San Miniato blends ease of access, picturesque surroundings, and authentic Tuscan charm.

Were there off-season: very few people, many places closed, lots of free parking space everywhere! Rather complicated access to the beaches. Beware of leaving bikes, even if locked in remote places, the tyres of our bikes had been punctured, probably in preparation to be stolen later at night. Else, wonderful natural beaches nearby and other natural reserves.

Peccioli itself is a sweet but tiny village about 30 mins from big hitting Volterra and San Gimignano as well as Montaione. Whilst it isn't close to many other towns, the accomodation itself is very relaxing and the owners can supply you with all meals as well as the option to wash your clothes there. The views of Tuscany are also lovely from here. Great for a relaxing break in the region of Volterra.

The city of Marina di Pisa itself is not so much worth seeing, but the beach is amazing for a suburb of Pisa. The water is so clean and blue, we really enjoyed. There are also very good restaurants in Marina di Pisa and excellent ice cream. I can recommend the restaurant "C'era una volta" which is close to the hotel. Sometimes you have to reserve a table for the next day because it is so busy at lunch time.
