It was very busy and crowded in the beginning of August.
It was very busy and crowded in the beginning of August. We tried to find the less crowded areas - the Giardini della Biennale park was nice to stroll through, and going to Piazzetta S Marco square very early or in the evening was nice. Our favorite thing in Venice was attending a Vivaldi concert at a church. We didn't make reservations - just strolled and stopped wherever we felt like it. Prices are lower in some of the less crowded areas. We enjoyed taking the water buses around and seeing the island from the water, as well as a short trip out to Murano.Guest review byHoskingUnited States - 10.0

I do not recommend going in August- extremely hot (nearly 40 C), and just everyone had a suitcase. Also beware, most Italiens- apart from the ones working hotels or gastronomy- do not speak any other language at all.Guest review byAngelaUnited Kingdom - 6.0

This is a place for people who want to chill on the beach for the entire duration of their holiday. There is barely anything else to do. The beach is an endless forest of sunbeds and parasols with restaurants nearby.Guest review bySzabolcsHungary - 10.0

Mestre was a pleasant surprise at the end of our short tour of Italy. We spent 4 nights in Venice, 4 nights in Bologna, and 4 nights in Florence, and one last night in Mestre before flying out. The town had a working class charm that was refreshing. My only complaint would be that mosquitos were in our room. No sir. Not good.Guest review byRobertUnited States - 8.0

Bibione has a sandy shallow beach perfect for families with small kids. Pay a bit extra to get an umbrella on row 1 or 2. Then you can easily monitor your kids while they are playing on the beach. Usually warmer sea temperature than the Mediterranean side. It is a multitude of restaurants with quite a variety on the menu. Very easy to get around with car, bicycle or by footGuest review byAnders HauglandGermany - 10.0
Caorle is a beautiful historic town that truly surprised us.
Caorle is a beautiful historic town that truly surprised us. It offers a rich atmosphere in the evenings, with plenty of entertainment, charming streets, and great places to eat or just enjoy a walk. The beaches are wide and spacious, allowing people to spread out comfortably — even during peak season, it never felt overcrowded. A perfect destination for families and anyone looking for a mix of relaxation and vibrant local culture.Guest review byJaroslavCzech Republic - 10.0

Nestled in the Veneto region, it offers a truly authentic Italian experience, away from the bustling crowds of more tourist-heavy destinations. It was unexpected but an absolutely wonderful experience! The city is a perfect blend of history, culture, and charm.Guest review byDidierBelgium - 6.0

I have the impression that the town has lost so many of its services - supermarkets, fruit and veg shops, delis - and the permanent citizens of Peschiera have put their efforts into restaurants, bars and shops. It is a very pretty town but I feel it is not a real town but a tourist town. In high season the ferries are frequent to visit towns around the lake. The bus service in the area functions but is crowded due to the huge number of tourists.Guest review bySuzanneCanada - 8.0

Malcesine is a great little village and Hotel Malcesine had some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Be aware that the gondolier to Monte Baldo is incredibly inefficient and you can spend over an hour waiting to get onto the gondolier and even more getting back Having said that I would absolutely recommend going up Baldo for the breathtaking views. But take a book!Guest review bycliveAustralia - 10.0
