The ambience and how clean the hotel and room was.
Also all the amenities was present ( I have not seen phone charger in any hotels but in our room we got it. It really helped us.)

The location is close by to several restaurants, welcia, convenience stores and by car is also close to the Ibaraki aquarium and Ajigaura beach. It is a prime location for many other locations. The rooms were comfortable, and clean.

Great place. Nearby train and bus stations. Nearby large shipping area inside the station. Served well. You can buy souviners from mito stations shopping centers (reasonable prices). There is some international restaurants and cafe inside mito station. Staff was more than amazing.

Staff spoke decent English even though this is by no means a tourist area. Breakfast was buffet style and what is to be expected from a Japanese business hotel buffet. There is also a Family Mart like right across the street. Koga station is less than a 10 minute walk.
Very near Mito station. Excellent breakfast. A special breakfast, which I think is changed everyday, is served. This is aside from the buffet style breakfast items. I loved the staff especially the restaurant staff.
The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was great compared to other hotels.
The cleaners even took care of my things a little bit during the cleaning process, so it had a very personalized touch.
Breakfast is fine. Not the fanciest, but satisfying.

Take note of the carpark if driving. The carpark is a multi storey block behind the hotel. Only available from level 3 onwards. We parked at level 4 and fprtunately there was a lift that brought us to level 3, which is the street level leading to hotel. Hand over the parking slip to hotel upon check in, pay 500Y and they will exchange another slip for you.

Good place for few days relaxing trip, 1hr from Tokyo by JR train, have direct bus from airport, recommend rental a car, driving 30 mins to outlet from train station, many site seeing places with 1 hour.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at HOTEL R9 The Yard Hitachinakaichige in Hitachi, and I must say, it was a genuinely unique experience that impressed me deeply. Staying in a cabin-style hotel is quite rare, and this property stands out as a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern convenience.
From the outset, the cabin's design captured my attention with its thoughtful, aesthetic touches that harmonize beautifully with the natural surroundings. Inside, the cabin was beautifully furnished, providing all the modern amenities you could ask for while still maintaining a cozy, welcoming vibe that made it feel like a home away from home.
The tranquility of the location added significantly to the experience. Waking up to the soothing sounds of nature right outside my window was rejuvenating and provided a much-needed break from the noise of daily life. The staff at HOTEL R9 The Yard Hitachinakaichige were incredibly hospitable and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable.

I nice city in central Ibaraki. Good restaurants and in summer the lake and park are excellent. The stores around the main station are interesting and will appeal to a wide range of people and there are many good hotels near the station.

It is a city with nature and interesting places to visit. I like the fish market here. The food is inexpensive, good quality and very delicious. Kirakuan Garden is also beautiful and gives a Japanese feel.
