- From $207.40 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 3,861 reviewsThe location is good, the lobby has a relaxed atmosphere, and the Gion Festival music is really understated and elegant. The staff at both check-in and check-out were quick to work and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was my preferred firmness for a good night's sleep. Bottles of drinking water were also provided, which was helpful. The reception staff at the breakfast room was also sophisticated and helpful. I believe there were several breakfast items that were probably home-cooked Kyoto food. They were a little sweet for me, but I enjoyed the Kyoto flavor. I think that many people would probably find a hotel in Shijo more convenient than Kyoto Station, depending on their destination, but since I was attending a conference near Kyoto Station, it was the best option for me.Guest review byMiyukiSouth Korea
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 580 reviewsWe loved the aesthetic of the hotel. It had a vintage, rustic, steam punk, and artsy kind of vibe. We had a gorgeous view of the Yasakanoto pagoda right outside our balcony on the 3rd floor. The view from the rooftop was beautiful. All the little details gave the hotel a lot of character. And yes, the room was spacious and the beds were super comfy.Guest review byDaryl JayGuam

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.Guest review byAmyCanada - 8.0
The staff was awesome!
The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.Guest review byMarkGermany - 10.0

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.Guest review byDeepuJapan - 8.0
The owners were very friendly and helpful.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean! The only confusion was that the description on Booking.com states that breakfast is available, it doesn’t say that you pay extra for it. I also paid for towels. If I understand correctly the coat is then deducted from the room fee but it really wasn’t clear.Guest review byCatherineCanada - 10.0

We loved walking the Philosophers Path and having lunch in that area. We went to the 400 year old Ozu Washi paper shop which was great. The bamboo walk was interesting and the Golden Pavion was beautiful. Kenninji Temple with its zen garden was so peaceful.Guest review byChrisAustralia - 10.0

Lots of tourists on holidays but pretty peaceful on normal days. The beach was great but I think they limit the days you can swim. Nice stroll along the sandbar. Amanohashidate is the main thing, there's nothing much to do in Ine aside from taking the boat tour. It's probably best to take the tour that starts from Amanohashidate and goes straight to Ine if you want to save time.Guest review byAshwenPhilippines - 10.0
I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas.
I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.Guest review byeltopoJapan - 10.0

Getting around the city is easy, whether on foot, by bus, or by metro. Cultural and historical richness is almost everywhere you look. The city is modern, yet its atmosphere remains calm and serene. With countless gardens and parks, it offers peaceful spaces to relax and connect with nature. Summer may not be the most colorful time of the year in Japan, but it comes with a welcome perk: fewer tourists!Guest review byHervéFrance
