We have stayed at nearly 20 different hotels over the last few years of travelling to Japan, but this has been the best one yet! - Location is perfect, as it is situated on a quiet street so we always felt well rested, but only a 5 minute walk to Nishiki Market, Life supermarket, and plenty of shopping, department stores, and restaurants within walking distance. We barely needed to take public transit - Very clean and calming atmosphere, right from the moment you step in. Everything is thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and designed with comfort, quality, and elegance in mind. Even the hotel bathrooms were stunning and spotless! - Hotel amenities were excellent! Elevators were nearly instant as there are fewer guests in a boutique hotel. The lounge was the best we’ve ever experienced, with a generous selection of snacks and drinks in a quiet and relaxing environment - Rooms are very spacious and had plenty of space for luggage. Bathrooms are beautifully appointed and feel like a spa - ample counter space, split bathroom design, and relaxing rain shower - Small thoughtful details show a commitment to quality, such as plush slippers, high quality teas from our favourite Ippodo Tea in the room - Staff was so wonderful and treated us with so much warmth and consideration! They moved our luggage to our rooms for us prior to us checking in, and even helped my mother in law prepare fruit for us! We have never experienced service that went above and beyond like this - thank you very much for making our trip so wonderful and memorable, our whole family is grateful! We hope to stay here again soon!

My room was large with a very big shower and tub area and full size soaking tub. Everything was updated and the mattress was very comfortable. The room had everything I needed, including a small fridge and a handy in-room safety box. Breakfast was included with my room and I could choose between the excellent Japanese breakfast in the Japanese restaurant overlooking a garden, or opt for the Western-style buffet which featured made to order eggs and omelets and a wide array of delicious options. I liked the location near the Gosho Imperial Palace and the Marutamachi subway station. When I was feeling lazy I took the free shuttle to Oike/Karasuma, where I could catch two different subways (east-west and north-south). The open atrium in the center featured a coffee shop/bar and was a pleasant place to chat with friends. I used to live in Kyoto and this is one of my favorite parts of town, very convenient yet quiet. I can speak Japanese, but was glad that the front desk staff included some very good English speakers. I found the staff at this hotel very friendly and professional throughout the property. After staying for one week, I found it very hard to leave. I will definitely be back.

The hotel location was great! Like 15 min walking from the Kyoto St. The stuff is yound and kind. They speak very good english and help you with everything you can. They store your luggage on the arrival and on the check out. In every room there are Vinyl disk players and you can take from the reception a vinyl disk and listen to your room. Plus they gave us delicious ice cream for free. The room is also big cozy and clean. It was everythong perfect. I will definently stay here again

This hotel is close to perfection with added esthaetic appeal all over. Even the small rooms offer adequate space and are immaculately clean, practical and comfortable. The happy (extended) hour with quality free coffee/tea/cocktail in pleasant surroundings is an added bonus. Far enough from the crowds but close to the central station. Highly professional service and dedicated, courteous staff. One of the best affordable accommodations in Kyoto.

It has a great interior, perfect for taking pictures or simply to relax. The hotel also offers shuttle bus from the hotel back to Kyoto Station, and vice versa. The place is also a stop for the Kyoto Sky Hop Off and Hop On Bus. These made our travel a lot convenient. There are some shrines that are near the place. It may be walking distance but depends on your definition of a short or long walk. The people are very accommodating and helpful.

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean! The only confusion was that the description on Booking.com states that breakfast is available, it doesn’t say that you pay extra for it. I also paid for towels. If I understand correctly the coat is then deducted from the room fee but it really wasn’t clear.

Lots of tourists on holidays but pretty peaceful on normal days. The beach was great but I think they limit the days you can swim. Nice stroll along the sandbar. Amanohashidate is the main thing, there's nothing much to do in Ine aside from taking the boat tour. It's probably best to take the tour that starts from Amanohashidate and goes straight to Ine if you want to save time.

I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

Getting around the city is easy, whether on foot, by bus, or by metro. Cultural and historical richness is almost everywhere you look. The city is modern, yet its atmosphere remains calm and serene. With countless gardens and parks, it offers peaceful spaces to relax and connect with nature. Summer may not be the most colorful time of the year in Japan, but it comes with a welcome perk: fewer tourists!
