- From $134.01 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very Good - What previous guests thought, 710 reviewsI stayed at the new building, and the room had a balcony facing the harbor which is nice. The room was very clean and new, I really enjoyed my stay. The location of the hotel was also extremely convenient (just right across the harbor, which is the start point of most off-shore activities/tour). I also participated in the hotel's private tour to Kamaya island and saw many cute rabbits. The hotel staff don't speak too much English, but they are generally very willing to help. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend to everyone. p.s. The hotel also has a policy which if you agree to skip room cleaning, you'll receive a coupon for dining. I really liked the idea of environment preservation, and also enjoyed spending the coupon at breakfast.Guest review byKao-ChunTaiwan
- From $101.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 187 reviewsIt is the cutest hotel. They have sweet little animals to welcome guests inside. The staff is amazing, especially Reika. She went out of her way to make us feel very welcome. The rooms are very much beach style with Japanese amenities including a heated bathroom floor and full size fridge. The beach is a beautiful 5 minute walk away. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower had amazing hot water with great pressure.Guest review byCitrineUnited States

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 569 reviewsReally good place to stay if you're backpacking or budget travelling, the room I had had an amazing view with a window you could open, it was great! The cat's in the lounge are also very friendly, as is the staff, who were very nice and fun to talk to. Very cozy, and the location is very close to the port so it's convenient if you plan on taking lots of ferries around.Guest review byScottJapan

First time at the hotel I saw stingrays and this time I saw a sea turtle! Also, they have for sports too and I loved it. The island is very attractive.
The island is very attractive. Sadly there is virtually no commercial development. So find a cup of coffee is impossible and even lunch is a struggle. Everyone seem to be with tour groups. I Without jellyfish nets you cannot swim off the beaches. It could be fantastic but unless you are Japanese I would go elsewhere.Guest review byJohn LindsayUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Iriomote is a paradise island.
Iriomote is a paradise island. Beautyful beaches for divers and snorkeling, amasing rivers and waterfalls, mangroves which seem to have no ending. The most beautiful night sky we have ever seen. First we thought that it was cloudy, but no, we saw the milky way! Very tasty local food. But be aware, it's wild nature including enormous spiders and "blind spots" for telecommunication. Always check the weather conditions before starting any tour or trip. Moving around by public transportation is challanging, but possible (since timetables are very acurately obeyed, but do calculate with long waiting periods). There are NO taxis available. So bring an English translation of your driver's license along if you want to rent a car. There is no airport on Iriomote but on nearby (45 minutes by ferry) Ishigaki island. Do calculate also some spare time to reach your fligth in case of bad weather conditions. Ferries might be cancelled.Guest review byHuldaAustria - 10.0

Great place for people liking dark skies, quiet, and not many people. Do your research on the Island and find the beautiful places to visit. Beaches, Caves, Dark Skies, very nice locals. How can you go wrong? Be sure to rent (in advance) a car at the airport so you can travel around this farming and beautiful island.Guest review byRogerHong Kong - 10.0
This island has a slower pace to the mainland of Okinawa,...
This island has a slower pace to the mainland of Okinawa, but has good food and some good beaches. Car rental is a must to explore the island adequately. Around 3 days is more than enough. While the rest of Japan is in winter, this island has great weather, warm enough even to swim in Janaury. Not so keen on the Public Market; feel a little too much like a tourist trap.Guest review byMichaelAustralia - 8.0

The island area near the resort has very few restaurants unless you want to drive 40 minutes into town. (The same holds true for a grocery store, you really have to go into town.) The villa area does however have a magnificent cave nearby that you must explore! And the beaches are fabulous.Guest review byElisa
