Agadir was lovely.
Agadir was lovely. Our hotel -Petit Palace Suites was beautiful and the smell inside was amazing! Staff were also very friendly and kind. It was approximately 20 mins walk to the beach. There are things to do like walk along the seafront, walk around the Marina, shop, eat! We booked trips like quad biking, day trip to Marakech, Fantasia dinner and show (they give you SO much food. It was tasty but too much!) Moroccan Haman and massage. For all the trips they pick you up from your hotel which is very convenient. You should also download an app called inDrive which is a kind of Uber equivalent which allows you to order a taxi or a private hire car and you can place an offer (amount) for the fare which the driver can choose to accept or not. There are some great surf spots within a short drive and good value restaurants. Beyond this, there is not much to do. The neighboured seems safe though is a little dirty. There are some very friendly locals though it feels like most just want to make money out of you rather than have a genuine interaction. The Riad Caravene is fantastic in every way. The riad looks like something from House Beautiful with beautiful spaces and lovely art. The rooms are gorgeous, the common spaces lovely. Particularly nice are the two terraces near and at the top of the riad, with great views in all directions and lovely furnishings. The small pool and deck on the ground floor also were lovely and a perfect spot after walking around the ksar. The staff were wonderfully helpful and the food outstanding. Easy and cheap to get to via shared taxi from Agadir. A sleepy, friendly town with an assortment of cafés, restaurants, grocery shops, butchers, bakeries and a weekly food market incl. fresh fish every Monday. Interesting town with souks and a historical setting where Ali Baba the original film was shot . A local man attached himself to us and ended up giving an informal guided tour. The restaurant we had a lunch was tasty and not expensive. You really don't need to stop here and stay over...
You really don't need to stop here and stay over... The todra gorge is beautiful to see, but you could drive up to it and out again. I recommend stopping at Family el Mabrouk restaurant on your way into the gorge for a truly authentic experience. They are so full of energy. We had a sunset tour on the camel organized from the Oases Tiloqui luxury Hotel, and it was great. From Zagora is 75 minutes by car to reach the location where you can also spend a night in the tents, that it can be quiet unique. We stay only for dinner after the camel tour.
