- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 314 reviewsEveryone at the hotel was super nice and helpful to us, specially Carlos which we had the chance to share some time with him. The room was nice, the AC was working smoothly and almost noiseless, the shower had hot and cold water with a good amount of water and the hotel itself was feeling really peaceful, with a nice garden area with some chickens around. To us, after some days in cabins and eco houses, having nice walls and some crystal windows was what we were looking for. The lake is just at one side and you can see it while having breakfast, which by the way is pretty good. The place is close to some interest points of the island. I can only recommend the place.Guest review byJuanSpain
- From $74.75 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 224 reviewsBeautiful Grounds, right on the lake, lovely room with vaulted ceiling and HOT WATER in the shower! So many places to sit outdoors and relax, hammocks, gazebos, rocking chairs, common room with couches and map books. Excellent, friendly service. Delicious food in the restaurant, hearty free breakfast. Monkeys and many species of birds around. Loved our stay here, highly recommend!Guest review byJanieCanada

Was a nice quiet island to relax and clime a vulkanisch Mountain when you like. We did a motorcycle tour. Renting one or a scooter is very affordable and the scenery is very nice. Very great food at the lakefront at Julia’s, almost opposite of ecolodge chiponge The Italian restaurant in the village on the walking street, without traffic, was great too , especially the pizzaGuest review byJozeUnited States - 10.0
A lovely little town on Ometepe Island.
A lovely little town on Ometepe Island. The locals were so nice and kind. I enjoyed riding around and just taking in all of the beautiful nature. Playa Mangoes was also a short drive from my hostel. I look forward to returning one day.Guest review byAlexisUnited States - 8.0

Call finca mystica (FM) prior to arrival and have them set up transportation for you. Taxi to and from the ferry terminal then rent scooters or 4 wheelers or horses from FM. We rented 4 wheelers from the ferry terminal and had a long hot journey to and from FM.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

We arrived at the end of the busy season (April 1st) which was nice, but it was hot, water had dried up, and many of the "tours" were not worth the time or money. The people were great! The food was awesome! And we loved exploring the island on our scooter. Definitely recommend Cafe Campestre! The pasta was OUTSTANDING and the people were fantastic. We didn't get a good-vibe from Chocolate Paradise - walked in - many people - nobody acknowledged our existence - so we leftGuest review byOurAdventure2022Canada - 10.0
Very small place but with everything we needed.
Very small place but with everything we needed. We rented a scooter from Guti Motor Rentals. They were good would use them again. Cafe Campestre has fabulous food. We went everyday. As a days activity we walked up to Finca Magdalena and from there you pay a small fee and can visit the petroglyphs. On the way back there is a nice pool to swim in (small fee) On the other day we took our scooter out to Charco Verde Reserve. Would recommend. There’s a lovely walk and beach for a swimGuest review byBelindaAustralia - 10.0

Great adventure, amazing people, and great food at unbelievable prices in General Great Island. Wants to go swimming: 1- OjO de Agua, 2-La Cascada[have to walk] 3-La Punta. Hungry well highly recoment " MIRADOR LOS VOLCANES " Now Down side: be aware of overprice on the Ferry also have to call in advance to be sure about ferry schedules and what side of the Island you want to go. Be prepare for Power Outrage [ take with you Battery pack/flashlight/power bank for cellphones ] Also because is water everywhere mosquitos repellant and drink a lot of water/electrolytes.Guest review byGAIBROUnited States - 6.0

There were several places to eat, one of which, Cafe Campestre, had Indian meals, hand-made pasta, and other selections. The only bad thing was dogs roaming through the restaurant looking for food. This is the only restaurant I ate at, and is probably by far the best place in town to eat. Didn't see any Nicas eating there. Probably kind of expensive for them.Guest review byChrisUnited States
