- From $176.85 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 508 reviewsStaff were very kind as we only communicated over message due to checking in late & checking out early. Everything was prepared to include a very toasty room! View from our room was GOREGOUS! The room itself was very nice, clean, and spacious. There are negative reviews of the shower but I had a bit of a cold from the weather and liked the steam!Guest review byBrookeUnited States

I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools.
I adore Lake Tekapo. Views for days. Good hot pools. Peaceful. A decent serious hike up Mt John to the Observatory Cafe or an easier one up to Cowes Lookout, both with amazing views. I've been going for years - still small but a good supermarket now and more eateries. It is getting busier and pricey, both accommodation and eateries. On the road to Queenstown so an easy stopover. Go with a car if you can - a side trip into Aoraki Mt Cook and walks up the Hooker Valley are worth it.Guest review byHeatherAustralia - 10.0

Mount Cook Village is a great location if you are planning to do some walks in the area. We did the Hooker Valley Track, Sealy Tarn Track, and the Tasman Glacier View after which we were exhausted and travelling to another location would have been a bit much. Staying at the village was the best decision. At night you can travel slightly out to get the most exceptional views of stars and in the morning you wake up to unbelievably beautiful views of mountains. If you are lucky you might just get some snow.Guest review byWaldoNew Zealand - 8.0

My husband and I have been coming to Twizel for several years now. My husband comes for the fishing and I for the photography. We have stayed in all seasons. This time it was July middle of winter. Didn't catch any fish but I got some great photos. Had a lovely meal out at Poppies. Would recommend them. We were disappointed with our accommodation, but it didn't ruin our stay in Twizel.Guest review byUdenNew Zealand - 8.0
The bakehouse pies are worth queueing for.
The bakehouse pies are worth queueing for. There are a couple of nice shops - not much else there although you could visit the nearby hamlets which looked to have some interesting features. We tried to walk along the river but the path was quite overgrown.Guest review bySuzyAustralia - 10.0
We lived in Omarama approximately 30 years ago.
We lived in Omarama approximately 30 years ago. It was lovely to see the progress in the town. There is plenty of places to eat out and all of them offer a good range of food, with friendly efficient staff.Guest review byHeatherNew Zealand - 8.0

Awesome landscape views and friendly info center staff, but some tourist sites such asTasman Glacier and White of the toilets had signs "Closed during Winter", which was so inconvenient for tourists.Guest review byDebSouMacau - 8.0
Lovely comfortable older-style motel not far out of Tekapo.
Lovely comfortable older-style motel not far out of Tekapo. Has been refurbished and had everything we needed. Shower was great & beds were very comfortable. Surprisingly quiet despite being near main road. Host was friendly & welcoming. Maybe a little small for more than 2 or 3 people or for more than a couple of nights. Travellers need to bring all food etc as no shops in settlement.Guest review byMarcellaNew Zealand - 10.0
My wife and I really cannot rave about this retreat enough.
My wife and I really cannot rave about this retreat enough. The villas are exceptionally appointed and spacious. The environment is picturesque, tranquil and peaceful. The food provided in the villas and the meals cooked by the chef are truly delicious and guests individual tastes are catered for. The staff are very welcoming and friendly whilst ensuring that privacy is a key component of the experience. The villas could not be cleaner or more tastefully presented. We doubt anyone could be disappointed in their stay at this retreat.Guest review bytonyNew Zealand - 10.0

Lake Tekapo will continue to be a place I will come back for my holidays and invite friends and family to join. In time, I believe it will be comparable to Wanaka, Queenstown but with more relaxing atmosphere. Hope to see more eateries / restaurants / fine dining in due course.Guest review byCheeNew Zealand - 8.0

Hooker valley trek is the main attraction there and it is closed right now The alternate to that trek is the Sealy Tarns trek which is pretty okay There are not too many options to eat there so it is a better option to buy your own food before you get here as there arent grocery shops here as well.Guest review byJayden
