United StatesThe suite was very comfortable and had a beautiful view of the ocean. A cook your own breakfast was provided each morning. On the counter were eggs and bread. In the fridge there was fruit, juice, yogurt, butter, milk, etc. The hosts were very gracious and helpful.
The restaurant was only a few minutes drive away. Nugget Point Lighthouse was a short drive from the town. The beach was in walking distance.
We enjoyed our stay there very much.

It was so peaceful. Within 2 minutes walk were magical forest paths lined with magnificent tree ferns, crown ferns and undisturbed vegetation. The cabin was beautifully decorated, and contained books on the area, games, a well equipped small kitchen with a barbecue on the balcony. The old house on the estate was built in the 1920s and creates a feeling of timelessness. The owners helpfully supplied local history and tourist information and were so welcoming. We would have happily stayed longer in this unique oasis of tranquility and nature and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates these special qualities.Guest review byTravellingOn2022Hong Kong

I found Kaka Point had a lovely peaceful community vibe. The weather turned during my short stay there, but that didn't spoil my walk out to the lighthouse at Nugget Point. Owaka is a small village, it has an excellent Inn especially for accommodation. The village has a small but well stocked supermarket, it has two restaurants and two cafes. It is quiet and peaceful. It is well located for visits to sites along the coast. Travellers just need to be aware that Niagara Falls is a joke, but it is a lovely place to stay. Possibly, Curio Bay around the corner would be a more spectacular place to stay, but Niagara is only a short driving distance away. Loads of wildlife to watch- we saw bellbirds, fantail, a yellow eyed penguin, sealions all within a few meters of where we were staying. We walked over to Jacks Blow hole following the doc track beside the accommodation. We were down for a School reunion but have previously visited sites such as McLean falls, Purakanui falls, Surat bay, Cannibal bay, Curio Bay, Horseshoe falls. All well worth a look around. This is some of New Zealands presitine rainforest and home to many bird species as well as the world's rarest penguins - Hoiho - Yellow Eyed Penguins.Guest review bySarahNew Zealand - 10.0

I only recorded the address which was rejected by the sat nav on my car. After travelling all the way to Niagara we were advised that the address was about 6km back at Waikawa. There are lots of beautiful walking spots. Due to raining we had to skip the spots we were interested in. Start kaka point (we saw seals), nugget point ( beautiful view it’s must)., Paramaribo fall( it’s beautiful). We missed taituku boardwalk (next time!)We booked whistling frog resort to stay one night. It was good choice because of location. McLean fall and cathedral cave are close by.
