- From $111.68 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 553 reviewsIt's simply brilliant! Right from ample parking to quick check in, Praveesh at the reception making sure guests had every bit of info right at check in to the wonderful spread for breakfast and dinner. From the location right on the secluded and picturesque beach to the dining deck on a wooden ship to a nice pool, gym overlooking the waves and sand, to plentiful children's play areas to total quietness - couldn't stop raving about this place. The turtle resort/hatching area is about 20min by car but I strongly recommend staying here and driving there than living there (way more expensive and way less to do thereabouts!). They also arrange a boat that picks you up right on the beach in the backyard, and take you dolphin watching (1 hour is more than enough for just that - 25OMR; cash). But I decided to do a two hour and try some fishing - which is trawling with no rods but using pillars on the boat to anchor the line and fingers to feel the bite, and reel it in old world style with your hands! Caught 3 Tunas weighing 2kg, 1.5kg and 0.75kg or do, while another slipped away under the boat. If I were to be anywhere in a 50k radius of this place, I would head here to stay the night, over and over again. A total 10/10 for me.Guest review byShyam NambiarUnited Arab Emirates
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 271 reviewsWow, this place is so worth the trip! The owner of the camp is very kind and welcoming, and makes you feel comfortable upon arrival. To get to the camp, you have the option of following the owner in your own 4x4 (we drove in ours and it was easy, with no prior dessert driving experience) or you can pay for a ride there. We did the 20 minute camel ride and it was the perfect length. Breakfast and dinner were really amazing, exceeded our expectations. They made a campfire for us, which we enjoyed with some mint tea while we stargazed. It’s really fun to climb the big dune behind the camp for sunset, but it’s a lot of exercise! Beautiful view. Definitely recommend this camp.Guest review byJordyUnited States
- From $178.36 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 2,293 reviewsFor a desert it had a lot of food options especially for dinner. Staff was very kind and you have a lot of activities that you can book right at the spot. We did the ATV tour and it was fun. For the sunset, I recommend climbing up the dunes on your own for good pictures. We came with a 4x4 car and it was easy to drive, but you need to deflate the tyre pressure first. But the team will provide you with all the infos before you arrive.Guest review byFurkanSwitzerland
- From $118.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 914 reviewsThis place gave us most memorable and special experience!! The staff are super nice. Since it’s private camp, so only maybe 10 families live there, when we have meals together, travelers from different countries all like friends, so cool. I like the breakfast and dinner. We booked the most expensive rooms in this camp. They are exceptional.Guest review byQingQatar

Though the hotel is only 1 min away from the bus station by foot, they still send people to guide the guests arriving by bus. They also offer various day tours which are reasonably priced. Sur was a nice surprise.
Sur was a nice surprise. We were planning on going to the sea turtles reserve in Ras Al Jinz, but it was not the season, so we ended up in Sur instead. Thea beach is very nice as well as the souq. We had nice breakfast at Sahari Restaurant and hiked up to the tower next to it to see the views over the town. We visited the light house and the dhow factory.Guest review byTarjaFinland - 6.0
I’m uncomfortable with the turtle viewing situation.
I’m uncomfortable with the turtle viewing situation. After booking I read reviews of Ras Al Jinz and we decided to avoid. Then we were told to walk onto the beach near our guest house, with the warning that we could be turned away as beach access at night is forbidden. We saw several people in cars near the beach, headlights on, clearly looking for turtles. We turned away. The following morning, after sunrise, we went up to the beach. A turtle had clearly been there, I just hope the uninvited visitors didn’t interrupt her. I fear Ras Al Hadd isn’t entirely coping with the increased number of tourists and I don’t think it’s really worth a visit, tourists also need to be made much more aware of the consequences of their actions.Guest review byPaulaSwitzerland - 10.0
Loved the sunset drive on the dunes.
Loved the sunset drive on the dunes. Dune bashing was fun and you can tell your driver what version of this you want - soft to fast ! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Make sure you book your seat at outdoor dining to avoid not getting a seat if the camp is full. Also book activities as soon as so you get your preferred time. Food was great - huge selection in the buffet and the musical entertainment was a great surprise !Guest review byAliceUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The desert is very beautiful here.
The desert is very beautiful here. Despite the multitude of camps, it is not a problem to have a perfectly quiet and serene evening or morning walk among the dunes. If possible, aim for a moonless night to enjoy the full splendor of the night sky.Guest review byMarkoBulgaria - 8.0

There's a nice museum in the old town which is worth visiting, plus a few restaurants and cafes with a souk (market), though mornings only. Good for transiting/spend half a day (spend the night at SAJ Inn Farms), not necessrily as a destination in itself.Guest review byLeonieGermany - 10.0
Excellent location.
Excellent location. But I would suggest that you allocate a separate place away from the hotel rooms for the scrap items as otherwise it invites snakes and scorpions to the rooms. Also recommend a Table Fan at the food lobby.Guest review byHariharanIndia - 8.0

Small fishing town, nice beach and sea was lovely, decent waves for surfing. Good location for turtles and the scientific center. Basic coffee/tea shops and supermarket. Best get provisions from Sur.Guest review byAbdul RahmanOman - 10.0
We had an excellent stay at the camp.
We had an excellent stay at the camp. It's a small and private camp, with a great view on the sand dunes. The tents are fully equipped and comfortable. All the people working at the camp were super friendly and helpful. They made sure everything was according to our expectations and beyond. We did a dune bashing activity, where we also watched the sunrise and took beautiful pictures. I also definitely recommend the camel ride to watch the sunrise! The dinner and breakfast was super delicious, and we enjoyed watching the stars around the campfire at night.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
It a quiet port town. It a beautiful little white town.
It a quiet port town. It a beautiful little white town. However, compared to the world's famous tourist destinations, it will be a little inferior. But if you travel in Oman, it would be a good candidate.Guest review byMASARUJapan
