As experienced Asian travelers we mainly focus on the food experience and local culture, little on main tourist attractions. On that level you really are pampered in Bangkok. So many small food places with so many different backgrounds - for a bargain. A heaven for people adoring good Asian food. Don’t waste your money on fancy restaurants, go wild and experience what Thai people do.Guest review byZornlurchNorway - 10.0

We found Chiang Mai is very clean and clam, it's not loud even in the night market, it's a good place to relax from a busy city life. There are lots of cafe to choose in different area of the city, providing good quality coffee and we bought some beans back too. The living cost here is so low, compare to Bangkok and Phuket, Chiang Mai is much more cheaper but the standard has not much difference. We have good shopping here, souvenirs are better price here, and the good as well, most of the local food are below 100Thb, always good price for a meal. one of the best thing in Chiang Mai is the distance to visit local /traditional villages, famous temples or forest is not far, it's like 1-1.5hrs drive then you will be far from the town, it's great to go 1 day trip to see the green or something different.Guest review byShadowYipHong Kong - 8.0

The line of restaurants was really nice but regarding the beach, it’s over crowded with agents trying to sell beach activities so there wasn’t a peaceful space where you could just chill and actually go take a swim at the beach which was a bit disappointingGuest review byNatashaUnited Arab Emirates - 4.0

The people are friendly and the beach and weather was so nice. Massage places are cheap and relaxing. Unfortunately, the place is full of scams, and if you go clubbing then definitely you will be robbed. I think this place is a one timer unless you are looking or you don’t mind dirtGuest review byZaynUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Koh Tao is still one of the few raw escapes in Thailand in my opinion, its divers and back packers heaven. However as a father with 2 kids in my forties i absolutely loved it. If you step away from the busy areas and off the beaten track you can find amazing coves and hiden gems still. The tourism all over the world has killed so much of our wildlife and reefs. The locals are definitely trying to do all they can to save it. Brilliant food, amazing views and a fun island.Guest review byDominicUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Chaweng is a beautiful destination for a chill out holiday
Chaweng is a beautiful destination for a chill out holiday The Jungle Tour is definitely worth doing & don't be afraid to barter the price Lots of eateries with great selection of food to choose from Fishermans Market is very pretty at night & there are bargains to be had If you hire a car or scooter - by careful if you like to dabble in the Green because the Police will pull you over & you will get a hefty fine - not worth it - grab a taxi or the local rides (which are cheap)Guest review byRuth WalkerUnited Kingdom - 6.0

If you want the beach and trips from the beach to the islands do not recommend you go this time of the year. As three single travellers there were very few bars, lots of restaurants that sold alcohol but no bars you could sit at and have a chat only found four and three of those were a good 30min walk from the centre. Ao Nang seems to have changed a lot over the years and has lost a lot of it's character as it is now catering more for families, which is not a all bad if that is what you are looking for but comparing it with Hua Hin, or Koh Samui, it just doesn't.Guest review byDennisAustralia - 10.0

A lovely, walkable old town, with sino-portugese buildings, some great little restaurants, and easy access to many islands, as well as the rest of Phuket. Always worth a night or two as part of any trip to the area.Guest review byReinholdAustralia - 10.0

The first two times we visited Koh Samui we stayed in Bophut near Fisherman's Village. After exploring the island a little more, we came to the conclusion that Lamai was the area we preferred, The beaches were better and sandy compared to Bophut which was more of a slush/muddy fell underfoot. Chaweng was a little too much for us, however, Lamai was just right.Guest review byRebeccaAustralia
