Fabulous hotel! Great service! Room and everything is superclean, new, comfy! Rooftop bar is amazing, great views, life music!. Coffee at downstairs is excellent (not sure why some rate it bad), price is not that bad (large Americano 6.5, regular 4.5). Absolutely loved every second in that hotel and would return! Some downsides: my room was on 11th floor and I heard talking, music from rooftop bar until 1 am but airplugs blocked it so I was not bothered much, you can sleep well. Bed is super, linen as well. Shampoo in the room had finished - they refilled quickly. Fridge does make loud noice in the middle of the night - the fix is that you open the door and close it again which stops the noice. Keycard in the lift needs to be hold on the reader long time. But, these were all minor issues, and did not bother me. Go to a community grocery store and a wine store-bar (2 min) - they are excellent. My new home in SF for sure.

We loved the location on Fisherman’s Wharf. 5 minutes from Pier 39 and 5 minutes from the station for the cable car. We were offered a free upgrade for the room: highly appreciated. The staff were friendly. I loved chatting with the lady at the concierge desk. Elegant hotel, very nice gym and interesting historical details to discover in the huge building that was once a can factory.

SF is still suffering from the Covid years.

SF is still suffering from the Covid years. Many restaurants are still not open and the City is no way near as vibrant as it was before Covid. It continues to get better to be there, but it still needs time to catch up. Still many things to see and do, but I don’t think it is a vital fun place right now. Museums, Crissey Field, Stern Grove concerts, theater and access to Napa and other areas are all still there, but City feels a bit dead. Wait a bit more time before visiting if you want the real SF experience.

The area of South San Francisco where the hotel is located is fine for taking lonely walks around what is essentially a business park, but there's not much to walk to. (There is a Starbucks and a few restaurants about 1/4 mi. to the north.) South San Francisco's downtown, which has a train station that takes you to the airport or downtown San Francisco francisco, contains restaurants open in the evening, is on the other side of the railroad tracks and a little hard to get to unless you're a jogger.

I was over charged $200 after specifically telling the clerk i paid on Bookin.com 2xs. She still charged me another $200 which I discovered when my card declined for dinner. (Not everyone has a lot of disposable income) I did not like have a room facing traffic although it did not bother me too much. The ceiling of the room was dingy. I could not find the remote and politely. asked for a new one. Upon my return I saw 2 remotes instead of 1. I think it was petty for the clerk to leave 2 remotes proving to me that I indeed did have one. They could have just taken the extra one and shook their head in silence, but someone felt the need to prove me wrong… The clerks were not welcoming at the hotel the day I checked in. It seemed like they had attitudes. The next day the clerks were much nicer.

Quite a few homeless people, some of whom were mentally ill, were walking all around and lying on the sidewalks--even on Shattuck, one of the main streets, which was close to the hotel. Many of the downtown storefronts were empty. The contrast between poor and rich people was striking--and sad.

We were double charged for the room.

We were double charged for the room. Did not state anywhere in my reservations that there was a 35.00 plus tax a day parking fee, such a scam for 3 miles away from the airport. Shuttle doesn’t run most of the day closed 930 am to 530 pm . We had a rental and we were pleased with it no connection to hotel . Manager on duty only refunded part of what they charged, and was billed 2 X for parking, better part of 75.00 bucks . No pool just the minimum amenities. Breakfast was descent.

This is a GREAT location for those needing to arrive at the SFO airport on time. It was easy to park, and it had many restaurants in the area. Not the best for planning to sleep late, or if you are into hot breakfasts. The cleaning staff in the halls begins cleaning at 5am and they are not quiet about it. The "hot" breakfast was served cold.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Hyatt...

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Hyatt Place Emeryville and the way this billing dispute has been handled. I booked my stay through Booking.com (Confirmation Number: 6552063614) from May 15–19, 2026. However, I checked out early on May 17, 2026. At checkout, the hotel calculated my final balance, collected payment in full, and provided a final receipt and billing statement confirming that my stay had ended and all charges were settled. After I had already checked out and received a final paid receipt, an additional charge was processed without my authorization. This directly contradicts the final documentation issued by the hotel. When I contacted Hyatt Place Emeryville, I was told to resolve the matter with Booking.com because the reservation was made through a third-party platform. However, this response ignores the fact that the hotel itself accepted my checkout, finalized my account, and issued the final receipt. The disputed charge occurred after the hotel closed my folio. As a guest, I should not be caught between the hotel and Booking.com while both parties deny responsibility. The reservation may have been made through Booking.com, but the hotel managed the checkout process, issued the final receipt, and processed the charges. I am requesting that Hyatt Place Emeryville and Booking.com work together to investigate this matter, provide a detailed explanation for the post-checkout charge, and issue an appropriate refund if the charge cannot be justified. Until this issue is resolved, I cannot recommend this hotel due to the lack of accountability and the difficulty in obtaining a clear explanation regarding billing practices. The ambience is great. We stayed at the Pacific Beach Hotel.

The ambience is great. We stayed at the Pacific Beach Hotel. It's very peaceful, right across from the beach and the locals are friendly and chill. There's tons of places to eat and explore in walking distance, whether you want to chill at the beach, go on a hike or just watch the sunset. My wife and I watched the sunset from our balcony every evening. Down the road, if you follow the beach trail there are restaurants, coffee spots, and a shopping center for groceries and other things. We went to Burger Board by the beach and if you like big juicy burgers and a beer, that's your spot. On the opposite side is a shopping center called near Rockaway Beach. Literally a 5 min or less drive from the hotel. There is this wonderful eatery called Nick's Rockaway which is a restaurant and bar. The food is amazing and our server Armando really went out of his way to make sure we selected the best dishes. Also you can see the sunset from the window. The steak was amazing. And my wife loved the chocolate cake. Great for couples who want a quiet getaway.
