The hotel is extremely beautiful! It is right in the UVA district so you can stroll around a bit. The staff had a special thing for us for our anniversary - a complimentary bottle of champagne, wine and cake. The hotel is very clean, very quite and very high value. If you want a 5 star feel, this is a great place to be in.

I was visiting relatives so my stay was fine. The area is lovely and there's lots to do, especially if you're interested in American history. I have visited many times and hit most of the tourist spots and toured the campus.

We had a great time enjoying the outdoors and natural beauty of the area. Shopping options such as Walmart were readily available, which allowed us to have meals at our cottage pretty easily. The caverns are a spectacular must see attraction. The national park is probably underrated for it beautiful views and trails. We were only there a few days, but expect to return to see more. We did a rafting excursion and would like to come back to kayak next time. The one downside is there seemed to be limited dining options.

Loved the caverns; great family memory..The historic downtown was a really cool place at night all lit up with some great shops to choose from. We aren't adventurous with food so went to Applebees and Cracker Barrel but our B and B hosts said the local spots in the historic part of town are top notch. We loved Mountain Home BnB and hiking the AT is always a great date day especially after the amazing breakfast at Mountain Home.

location was perfect. beautiful buildings and amenities in the mountains. at least 4 pools, some indoor and heated. several rec rooms with basketball, curling, ping pong, racquetball, pool and arcades. lots of deer and groundhogs; all places were clean and up to date. staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. a variety of restaurants, ropes course, movies, art classes, wine tasting and so much more. there were some very nice restaurants in the town nearby and all reasonable in price. JMU is about 20 minutes away.

The New Market battlefield tour and Virginia Museum of the Civil war are top notch. A small fee for the museum tour and video but well worth it, it has an excellent description of the Civil War battles from beginning to end.
