Facilities are fairly new, rooms are very nice with everything you need. The staff is incredible, Julio and Diana at the breakfast buffet make you feel like a celebrity. The staff at the sport bar was so accommodating, they even helped my husband find the Dominican baseball game he wanted to watch. The food was also great, we will definitely be back.

We loved our stay in Catalonia Royal Bavaro, everything was so good! All the staff were excellent at all times, very friendly wait staff every day, and our room was very spacious, clean and well appointed. There are 6 restaurants to choose from and the food was always really tasty and well served. The lunch restaurant by the pool was excellent, so was the main Thalassa restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The evening entertainment was good (I wouldn't usually be on for that at all), it stopped at 9.30pm and there were a couple of parties later on down on the beach. There were plenty of sun loungers at all times, even though the resort was full, we loved having juices on the beach and sushi at the beach bar in the afternoons. We couldn't fault anything, we really enjoyed it all and would highly recommend. We had one issue with getting a refund from a transport company who didn't turn up for our transfer. I wasnt' getting a direct response so I asked Guest Services of the hotel to help and Natalia rang them to support our request, which was then successful. Also Glendy, the onsite rep of the company. was very helpful too and we have now been issued with our full refund.

    The food was great. Often food at all-inclusive resorts is mediocre, but the food here was worth coming back for. We didn't have one bad meal while here. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The rooms and facilities were very clean.

    Beautiful grounds. Swim-up rooms were great. The lagoon next to the hotel was the perfect place to swim. The El Beso part of the resort was fantastic, especially the adults-only restaurant on the beach. The lobby is beautifully designed and has a fascinating architectural concept, and the lobby bar and piano bar were really elegant. The buffets were surprisingly good for an all-inclusive resort.

    Excellent food, drink and service. small tips go a long way. I'm glad I did not let the few negative reviews sway me. I'm used to traveling in luxury hotels. While this isn't a luxury resort by any stretch it is rather great for an all inclusive. I am planning on returning. I also highly recommend the platinum upgrade. Totally worth it.
