We had a lovely stay and appreciated being able to bring our pup along. The bathroom with the plush robes and towels was the best part of our stay. The new room decor falls short in elegance and practicality; while comfortable, it lacks the “wow” factor of the old decor. We were also disappointed with the state of the courtyard. The outdoor landscaping was not nearly as beautiful as it was during our last visit this time of the year. The staff was courteous and helpful at every level of service but having visited a similar 4 star hotel in Seoul just a few days apart, the comparison leaves The Salamander lacking in excellence by far. Not criticizing the staff but the expectation of the brand in the level of service.

Beautiful place but had to use the valet and concierge and breakfast was very expensive for buffet style.

Hands down one of the best properties we have stayed at. Everything about this place was comfort. It’s a little pricey but definitely worth every dollar.

It is not easy to find a restaurant with a quiet moment. The lobby areas are very noisy and full of peoples.

The floor is under reconstruction, and the hallway looks busy and not clean enough for the price we paid.

No coffee making facilities in the rooms. Free coffee is available in the lobby although I would have expected in-room facilities for the price. No room safe which was also a surprise.

Lovely hotel just a short walk from the Wharf and about 30 minutes walk from the Lincoln Memorial etc. Staff are very helpful and attentive. Rooms are comfortable and had a good view over the river.

Renovation is underway, so many facilities and services are significantly limited. The bar is a small corner of the breakfast area, which is also the lunch area and the dinner area. I would have expected a heated floor in our large bathroom.

Nicely located, very clean; friendly and helpful staff; beautiful facilities. Afternoon tea served in our room was delicious.

It was being remodeled so no pool or real work out room. They sent us a note warning us of that but only after we booked .

Centrally located to the mall and great restaurants. Hotel was sparkling clean and service was consistently outstanding.

The price, though we expected that as to location. The prices for the resturant were expensive, though the food was good. Also parking was pricey. Would have appreciated a keurig in the room or coffee for guests in the lobby area.

The staff was excellent. Very helpful as to places to go, places to eat. The doorman ,valets, porters all great. The room was great all around and cery clean. Great location as to why we picked to stay.

A bit far for Metro and Mall if leave through main entrance on less traveled streets. Room service meals are expensive, typical but still annoying since bar kitchen closes early.

Overall nice facilities and friendly staff. Location is great with easy access to the Tidal Pond, Wharf, and Mall.

The indoor swimming pool was cold which was very disappointing since the indoor pool was the main feature that led me to select this hotel over others.

Cold airconds everywhere. The windows in the room was impossible to open to get the fresh air. No outside restaurants to eat. We used starbucks from our second breakfast to eat on a fresh air.
