Newbury is lovely with lots of period places to visit nearby. Beautiful countryside, lovely golf course, Nice small town with a retail park near by also.
Lots of places to eat
Having your own vehicle would make the stay easier, i did not use public transport but there appears to be lots of it.

I was in Newbury for work at the local showground which was a short 10min drive.
In the evenings we had the pleasure of visiting the local pubs and restaurants of which there are plenty for all tastes and budgets (Italian, That, English, Turkish, Spanish etc) including take always too.
You can stroll along the river, take in the theatre or shopping areas, ideal for a weekend trip with a partner or friends as the racecourse is also close by.

Small market town that has essential shopping and even a family owned department store. There are many walks along the canal or small river that runs around the town. Visit Highclere ( the home of Downton Abbey) or just chill out in the surrounding countryside.

As long as they have got your money they are happy. The world is not black and white
and sometimes shit happens that is outside
the normal.
Staff training would be a massive leap forward for you guys.
You might even get happy customers !!!
The room was great, very comfortable and clean. We don't usually eat at the hotel, but the food was so good we ate here both nights. The set menu is especially good value. Shower was very good, toiletries were nice. Great to have fresh milk delivered each morning to the room along with bottled water. Staff were generally very good and friendly. the town centre is walkable, around 20 minutes.
Right in the middle of Newbury with free parking which is an absolute bonus. Huge hotel with lots of rooms and no lift (not a problem unless you can’t take the stairs). Room was clean and had everything we needed for a nights stay. WiFi worked fine, kettle in the room and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was basic hot and cold options, but again everything you need to start the day and fill you up!
The staff are so friendly and the food was excellent - it's a beautiful setting so close to the Watermill Theatre and Newbury. We were doing two private painting classes with the lovely local and very talented artist - Gail Davis (www.artgaildavid.com) and the hotel was so handy for that.
Room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Excellent towels, big and fluffy! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is great, a short walk from Newbury town centre and free parking out the front of the hotel. Easy to get to main roads from the location.
The location is great for the surrounding area, with Newbury less than 15 minutes away. There's ample parking and it was easy to find being not too far off the main road. The outside of the pub and accomodation house looked lovely and there was little to no noise at night.
The property is spectacular, we were delighted to explore Donnington Castle, the hotel is gracious and authentic and the staff, especially Emanuel, are eager to please and very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend a stay in this hidden gem
Good location for Town Centre and Newbury Racecourse.
Onsite parking (although not suitable for large vehicle)
Clean and spacious accommodation
Good quality bedding and towels
Tea/coffee/sugar and milk provided
Located conveniently for us to attend a wedding outside Newbury. Quirky decor in some of the rooms. Exceptionally friendly and efficient service from the young lady who checked us in and even served our breakfast.
Great location and comfort. In the town centre and near the train station, so very convenient, as I went to visit my son who lives in Newbury. Will definetely come back.
The room and hotel guest areas were very comfortable and stylish. There was plenty of space, the staff were great and very helpful. Had a wonderful spa treatment
