Third time staying at The Box House Hotel and it's yet to disappoint. Large (by NY standards) rooms, that are clean and well maintained. All the basic amenities are supplied and the staff are only more than happy to assist with any extra requests. Great location, the subway is just 10 mins walk away, and as the area changes there are more and more food and drink options nearby. Would definitely recommend The Box House Hotel to anyone heading to NY, but looking for a little break from how overwhelming Manhattan can be.

Feeling like home and this is the best way to travel and enjoy NYC. Absolutely friendly staff who were very professional and helpful the whole time. The room was going above and beyond from our expectation with that wooden floor and size. The area is quiet and 10 minutes walking distance from shops, cafes and public transport. Big shout out to the cleaning service!

Immortalised in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were a city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!
The borough is joined to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It is also linked to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the north-east, Brooklyn Bridge Park offers some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while south-east is the huge Prospect Park.
On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighbouring Queens.
At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Regeneration is underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden rollercoaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.
Cheap Brooklyn hotels offer a good alternative to accommodation in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.
It is well located to explore many areas by foot. Very comfortable hotel, good breakfast and really helpful staff. Having a bar/restaurant in the hotel was most useful, particularly on my first evening then I didn’t feel up to looking for somewhere to eat.
The area itself has little to offer, but it’s not far to walk to Dunbo, Brooklyn Heights. Carroll Gardens, Prospect park and Park Slope to name only a few. Around the corner in Gold Street Botte is a lively and lovely Italian restaurant.

Brooklyn is a very busy city.
Brooklyn is a very busy city. There are many options for activities and sightseeing. The traffic is very, very busy and the parking is almost impossible. If you know where you are going and what time you need to be there you must definitely factor in your commute.

Great restaurants and cocktail bars!
Great restaurants and cocktail bars! Shout out to Laser Wolf, Deux Chats, With Others and Baby Blues (breakfast). Domino Park’s a great place to walk and see across to Manhattan. Easy access to the city via subway.
A great area of Brooklyn and close to lots of restaurants, bars, cafe's, train stations and more. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. There were a lot of places in the hotel to chill out as the rooms were obviously very small but the common area places were great. You also got discounts at the hotel bar and The Butcher's Daughter restaurant on the opposite side. I would highly recommend this to anyone and really enjoyed my stay as a solo traveller.
The room service was on top of making sure we had towels and new bathroom stuff for the day. Very close to the trains if you know how to figure out your routes. I do say if you are trying to see New York for Times Square the bus route is easy but you have to know how to navigate and the Ubers are $70+. The restaurants around the hotel that deliver are actually pretty good and do late night delivery also super cheap !!!
This is a budget tourist hotel set in an industrial part of Brooklyn with resulting high levels of street noise. The hotel is not quite as modern as it appears in the photos and is a a little tired. However it is close to the subway and has several good local bars, cafes and stores nearby. It is also good value compared to other hotels nearby. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
I love the location of it; there were parks and beautiful views of the Williamsburg bridge. It wasn’t hard to find parking either. It’s such a quirky location.
The room is really cute. They do have a stocked fridge for you with no charge. The can of water is a nice touch. The view of Brooklyn was absolutely beautiful; I got to watch the sunrise from my bed and wowza.
I loved everything about this hotel. Never stayed in Brooklyn before but I ended up loving it. Williamsburg is a lovely neighborhood with so many great shops and restaurants. I really loved my hotel room. It was quite large by New York standards with a large balcony and a spectacular view. The rooftop bar was also amazing.
This hotel has the nicest staff. They go above and beyond to make sure their guests are comfortable - especially all of the employees who work on the pool level. The hotel is located perfectly within Williamsburg and has the most beautiful aesthetics. My friends & I appreciate having such a comfortable home away from home.
The facilities were clean and organised. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring downtown Brooklyn. It was definitely value for money. I’m glad I chose a hotel stay over an Airbnb this time around. Above all the staff was excellent, welcoming and very helpful.
Well designed small apt- rooms in Williamsburg very close to a score of restaurants including the rooftop establishment at the hotel. Bed was comfy, large window with urban view brightened our stay. Friendly staff. A nice outdoor gathering area.
I stayed in this hotel before and love the location, it's very easy to get to Manhattan and the rest of Brooklyn, and the surrounding neighbourhood is vibrant and active. I also enjoy the pool facilities, and the bathroom is very nice.
Fantastic staff in a very clean comfortable and modern hotel.10 minutes walk to a brooklyn metro or the NYC ferry straight into Manhattan or down south to Coney or indeed further south by ferry will link you nicely to jfk
very hard to find something to say about this hotel was adequate what very disappointed, hotel is situated in the centre of Brooklyn which is a good point very close to the underground station
Not much...............breakfast was package cheap muffins, everything very low end. I stayed at this hotel twice before and it was pretty good value for the money.
The hotel is in an excellent location. Very short walk to shops and restaurants in downtown Brooklyn. close to subway. Staff was excellent. Breakfast was delicious.
