Agrigento looks off-putting on approach: the modern building are ugly and, like much of Sicily, there is too much litter. But, once you are in the old town and narrow streets, it is charming and fun: good restaurants, shops and bars; easy access to the World Heritage site, the Valley of the Temples; interesting architecture - the cathedral is stunning; and friendly people.
It is easy to park but you need strong nerves to drive. And the city is built on a steep hill so it may not suit anyone worried about their mobility.

We went to the Valley of the Temples in the morning which was amazing and saw the Scala del Turchi in the late afternoon which were great! We only saw the town in the evening as we were driven along Via Atena which was very lively with lots of shops and restaurants - we would have liked to see a bit more of the town but we had limited time!

If you like ancient ruins you will like visiting the Valley of the Temples near Agrigento. Agrigento itself was a delight to be in on a Saturday night. We had a great meal, wandered the street while people-watching, did a little shopping. Enjoyed the evening immensely.

An incredible city full of history that is impossible to absorb with only one visit. The Valley of Temples is breathtaking, and leaves a visitor in awe of its rich past. This is my second visit to Agrigento, but it’s never enough because there is so much to learn and appreciate here.
The rooms are very well decorated and comfortable. Everything was thought in detail. The access with qr code is quite smart.
The arrival was quite shocking as the apartment is located in a street full of garbage (that’s a common problem allover Sicily) and buildings falling apart, but the Alcobia camere is like an oasis. You simple go up the stairs and you are in the city center that is quite beautiful.
The breakfast is in 2 locations near the rooms. Good food and nice service in both.
Spacious and comfortable apartment only a short walk away from the city center. Features a piano. Parking the car can be a bit tricky - as always in Sicily it depends on your luck. We were extremely lucky and parked right at the front door.
The best place we stayed in Sicily. The location in the old city center of Agrigento was wonderful, our room was stunning, the view from our terrace, fresh tasty breakfast, incredible hospitality. This place was perfect.
Best ever stay in Sicily, along all others we have been. Very helpful owner, welcoming and attentive. Provided good recommendations which enhanced our stay in Agrigento. Would come back!
