Riomaggiore was generally quieter than the other 4 villages. There were lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. We particularly loved ‘il maggiore’ because the staff were friendly and the food was great. The view of the buildings surrounding the beach is iconic. The water is difficult to access however and there are only rocks to lie on. Plenty of opportunities for water activities if weather allows. Very friendly!

Riomaggiore is definitely worth a visit as the scenery and restaurants are great. However, I think that 2 days and a single night would have been sufficient to experience it as I was looking for a less touristy vibe and it was the peak of tourist season.

It was very easy to access by train from the Wright station at Florence, you need to be sure you are at the right one, and a 2 to 3 nights stay is recommended by us for a time to relax and also get in some visits to the other towns! Going in the warmer months may be more crowded, but the water is a wonderful temperature and worth every minute

Of the five villages Riomaggiore has been left in a sad state with the harbor/marina area looking like it hasn't seen a paint brush or any maintenance in a very long time. Poor upkeep for a village which relies on tourism as a major revenue source!

I stayed for 1 night in Riomaggiore near the marina with amazing sea and mountain views from my room windows. I enjoyed the sunset view from my room and then roamed around the village in the evening. Found less vegetarian food options in the restaurants. Next morning, I bought beautiful souvenirs in the cute little shop in the village. Since the sea was a bit rough, boats were cancelled and I travelled by train to La Spezia.

Riomaggiore was our favourite village in Cinque Terre.

Riomaggiore was our favourite village in Cinque Terre. It is basically one big hill with shops, restaurants and a nice harbour to travel by boat to other areas. It's a very quaint village with a charming ambience. Bonus is a laundromat if you are travelling through Italy. Our favourite restaurant is beside the laundromat called La Cantina Del Macellaio. Perfect!

Absolutely stunning property. Prime location with a beautiful terrace. We were not bothered by the terrace being public and many people using it as a lookout. We never found it crowded or loud. Only a short walk to the main street, train and swimming spot. Riomaggiore was our favourite out of the 5 in Cinque Terre. Property manager was very helpful and accomodating. Would recommend to stay to our friends and family.

The host and her assistants are extremely kind, accommodating and helpful! The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, shower water stayed hot and had good pressure. Short walk from the train station, and a beautiful view of the ocean! The best part! 10/10 recommend this stay for Cinque Terre!

The property was right in the heart of Riomaggiore so a perfect spot to enjoy Cinque Terre and its culture. It also had everything we needed and was perfect for a short stay for 2. The bed was also super comfy and the apartment didn’t get too hot for sleeping.
