Extremely interesting, I was there 6 days and never stopped going to places around the city but could have stayed longer as there is so much to do. I took the "Pocket Rough Guide to Madrid" and accessed the Madrid Official Tourism website on my phone (https://www.esmadrid.com/en), both of which gave excellent information. There are many Tourist Information points where i got free maps and a Metro map. I download Microsoft Translator app which was incredibly useful to communicate with people.
As well as the museums and galleries etc there are many gorgeous open spaces and parks, The Botanical Gardens are amongst the best in the world, and El Retiro Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site for good reason. I attended Flamenco, and an outstanding concert with the National Orchestra and National Choir performing "Missa Solemnis" (Beethoven). The Madrid Official Tourism website has a lot of things available to entertain children too.
Madrid is very clean, it is a very beautiful city with stunning architecture and a fascinating history. Very important is that I am a retired single lady yet felt very safe even walking around the streets and on the Metro by myself, often very late at night. The Metro is brilliant plenty of officials at most stations should you need assistance.
I highly recommend a trip, whether travelling as adults or a family with children.

Madrid is the capitol of Spain, so it has many state buildings and statues. We expected to love the Museo del Prado, but found it surprisingly lacking in soul. It was very crowded and hard to navigate. Instead, we really enjoyed the Museo del Reina Sophia, the Spanish Museum of Modernism. It is more of a public educational museum covering the 20th century, especially the Spanish Civil War. Picasso's masterpiece Guernica is housed in this museum, along with experimental films, war posters, etc. I spend extended my visit by several extra hours to enjoy all the floors of this surprising collection and highly recommend it.

The city is alive and vibrant all day long. So much to see and explore. People are welcoming and pleasant. Public transport is very smooth and on time.
Climate in June was great, not to hot, there was always a breeze.
Food is interesting, choices are endless.
You have to be ready for what awaits you once you enter the building because you have to take an elevator for just one floor and upon leaving it two flight of stairs and you are at a hotel, a hidden gem on the Gran Vía
The hotel has one of the largest room I have seen in a hotel, all come with a kitchenette, a big closet and a huge bathroom
The hotel is well taken care of, very clean, smells great and the staff is fantastic, remember you are in Spain.
I’m planning to go back in March 2025
This is a perfect location, being attached to the Chamartin station. One can get to the airport, to amy point in Madrid, and pretty much any place in Spain by train quite easily from this hotel. The pricing was a good value. The reception allowed me a late checkout, which enabled me a quick shopping trip to El Corte Ingles before heading to the airport. The meal service was a good value and good service. The room and the hotel appeared clean and comfortable.
It liked that it was located in the historic city center, which was very convenient for my last day in Madrid. I was able to visit the places, and historic monuments that I didn’t have time to visit at the begging of my trip to Spain and Portugal. The room was small, but very clean and organized. The receptionist that was there for my check in was welcoming, nice and extremely helpful. She even walked me to my room.
really cozy small hotel in the city centre. the staff are very helpful, it’s very clean and the bed was big and comfortable. windows face the inner courtyard so it’s not very noisy from the street (at least our room), but the walls are thin, however that’s normal. has everything you need, nothing fancy but a good value for money for Madrid city centre. all the attractions are walking distance.
The hotel is very well located in the centre of Madrid, with a good metro connection to the airport. Gran Via and Moncloa within walking distance from the hotel, nice places to eat around. The host is friendly. No problem with noise from the street (we had a room in the back). The bathroom was clean. The room was small, but ok. A good option for this price.
We loved the location, and the staff were lovely and so professional. We stayed in Madrid at Gran Hotel Ingles the last night of a week-long trip to Spain for our 20-year anniversary. The staff welcomed us by wishing us happy anniversary, and had a lovely anniversary surprise in our room. So so wonderful and memorable! The breakfast was fabulous too!
This property is very well located. It is conveniently placed for Madrid Airport…..and the Metro station ….Alfonso VIII…..is only a 2 minute walk from this hotel….making it easy to access the city centre. The reception staff were also very professional and friendly. Our room was very clean and bright and had everything we needed for an overnight stay.
This hotel was the most comfortable hotel out of the three I visited in Spain, the room was very comfortable and the only one with the best-sleeping mattress firm and pillows. The room has a lot of amenities including a press iron table for your clothes in case you need it. The hotel's service is great and employees are very friendly and helpful.
We love staying in this neighborhood and were lucky to find the Vincci. Clean, well run, and friendly, it's close to so much of central Madrid and a stone's throw from great food and bars. The front desk staff were terrific. We've stayed in Vincci Hotels elsewhere in Spain and will definitely be back to this one in Madrid.
Good location in the city centre. Private room with bathroom was a good size and we got a little terrace. We got it at a very good price comparing to other hotels in Madrid. Plenty restuarants all around. Close to the metro. They have a little bar downstairs with 2 for 1 drinks if you are a guest and show them your key.
Still the BEST hotel in Madrid and probably Europe. We stayed here twice on our trip to Spain at the beginning and end of our trip and it was great. We've stayed here before so it's awesome that the hospitality, friendly employees, and clean rooms are a mainstay. Stay here, you won't regret it!
very good breakfast, related to 4 other hotels I took in Spain, this hotel offered one of the best breakfasts,
location is excellent, very close to all Madrid monuments... 10-15 minutes walk.
also close to metro station, where u can take a metro to Santiago Bernabeu.
Hotel was in a great location, being a short walk from Gran Via metro station, with easy connections to the airport. Room was nice and cool. Shower was decent, everything worked fine. Lovely, welcoming staff too, and decent value for the centre of Madrid.
great hotel by the airport for last night. gas station right across the street. parking in hotel garage is convenient—tight but no worse than usual in Spain underground lots. price made it a good value for us.
Super nice apartment, clean and modern and well equipped. Excellent location on a quiet street a block from Gran Via. Best place I stayed in the 6 weeks in Spain. Juan was a super host.
it is the perfect hotel for staying in Madrid city centre. Great location and comfortable room. I particularly liked the terrace for smoking as I hate standing out on the street.
