A pretty location with a lovely beach drive.

A pretty location with a lovely beach drive. Great proximity to Trees of Mystery as well as other Redwood Forest trails. Quiet and relaxing spot. We ate once at the Apple Peddler, but they were out of so many things, blaming a blocked highway preventing their supply truck. Didn't have that problem elsewhere, and the Safeway was fully stocked. But the server was sweet and apologetic... but we didn't go back.

Excellent base for exploring the redwood parks.

Excellent base for exploring the redwood parks. The park information center was extremely helpful for details about Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park, and, because of Yoko (friendly guy at info center), I was able to go on a very pleasant, casual road trip into the park.

We spent all our time at the beach.

We spent all our time at the beach. We rented a home for 3 days right across form the beach and we spent all 3 days on the beach or watching the ocean tides rise and fall. Have been to crescent city several times and always have a great time there.

Crescent City is a fantastic spot with stunning views, from its rugged beaches and iconic lighthouse to the friendly locals. The town's museums offer a peek into its history, including a dramatic tale of survival from a tsunami. There are plenty of great places to eat, and the nearby redwood forests are simply breathtaking—a must-see for anyone visiting. In short, Crescent City is a perfect blend of nature, history, and hospitality. Recommended: 3 days stay

    The staff is always nice.

The staff is always nice. I'm always occomodated with a ground floor room. Even the non-ocean rooms have a little ocean view - but only when the RV place is empty. It's easy to pack and unpack - just pull up in front of your room. Don't miss walking to the lighthouse. Check the tides because it's only accessible during a low tide.

We specifically chose Crescent City as a launch for visiting the Redwood Groves nearby. That was an awe inspiring highlight that I highly recommend. The natural beauty of the ocean beaches and harbour area are stunning. The city itself was sadly very depressed and seems desperately in need of an infusion of business upgrades. Many businesses are clised and shuttered. We did enjoy an excellent seafood meal at a place on the harbour.

Hiochi is a treasure. A small mountain town hotel, with a cafe next to it(home made real local food). Both ran by same people. Free fire pit (wood included), yard games for the kids. My husband and I felt like we were in a hallmark movie with the vibe and people we met. We will definitely be going back. Best dog friendly motel on our 101 trip from Oregon to California. Jedediah state park and river literally 5 min around the corner. Crescent City for the ocean is 20 minutes away. Best of both worlds to enjoy the Redwoods and the Ocean.

This is my second stay at the Motel 6 in Crescent City CA. The hotel itself is run down and crappy, the staff (ALL OF THEM) are extremely rude and unhelpful, the linens provided are terrible, the rooms are disgusting, the beds are super uncomfortable, the tv service and WiFi sucks. All in all this hotel needs a complete upgrade, staff jncluded, or shut down for good. This is my second complaint and Corporate really needs to do something about a complete over haul, ESPECIALLY THE RUDE STAFC

Just awful! A 1960s style motel with a pokey little bathroom and sink outside. Minimally renovated with shiny plaster walls ....dirty looking carpet.... horrible. For what we were charged it doesn’t leave me with a very favorable opinion of Best Western hotels. Breakfast wasn’t up to what others have told us about BWs breakfasts. Milk carton eggs for scrambled eggs and dried up bacon...and an officious server. We had breakfast elsewhere. Wouldn’t recommend or stay there again.

Crescent City doesn’t have extensive facilities, but this hotel is centrally located and in a great position to enjoy the Redwood forests. The motel is undergoing a rolling program of renovations, but our ‘old’ room was still fine. Daniel on reception was lovely. He collects foreign coins so he will love it if you bring loose change from your travels

The hotel is in walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and Ocean World. A short drive will get you to some awesome hikes through the red woods. We enjoyed how spacious the room was and found the bed to be comfortable. My favorite part was the jacuzzi tub in the room. The staff was friendly and informative.

A pretty standard hotel with a central location to Jedidah Redwood forest. This is the kind of hotel you stay at when you're like "lets camp" but then it's pouring and you don't really want to camp. It's beside the campground and next door to the best breakfast spot around. The staff is super nice and helpful.

The location was wonderful. You can walk out of the restaurant and you are on the beach. From hotel it is an easy walk to the lighthouse, dog park, marina, and a local brewery and restaurant. The hotel had a great restaurant/bar with a perfect view, a pool table, laundry, and a convenience store. Very nice.

The hotel cancelled the booking, state that the hotel had fire damage from wildlife, this was not true, there was a weekend event on and had cancelled one night bookings, to make space for booking for two or more nights,,, we know this as we booked into another hotel just down the road on the same night,,

Price for the purpose of our stay, we were on our way to Oregon. Close to Redwood National Park. In town dining was excellent, Crescent City Seafood(dinner), and Sally's by the Sea Bakery(bfast). Quieter room than the Best Western in Eureka Ca. Easy checkout..

Convenient location for a one-night stay as a roadtrip stopover, with rooms that have at least seen some vague "remodelling" in the last century as opposed to many other motels in the area.
