Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta NE Gwinnett Sugarloaf, hotel in Johns Creek

Located in Duluth, Embassy Suites By Hilton Atlanta Ne Gwinnett Sugarloaf has a fitness center and a bar.

Upon arrival 06/12/24 desk rep stated, could not accommodate accessible Walk-In Shower as reservation noted for my two elderly (84 yrs. old & 87 yr. old) family members. That it was only one (1) available with Walk-In Shower with guest extending until 19th. I was offered accessible tub for both my bookings; 06/12-06/13/24 (1 Night) & 06/13-06/17/24 (5 Nights). She said, i booked through 3rd party Booking com, so accommodations was not guaranteed; even though it was seen noted on booking. Was also supposed to have two (2) queen beds with a sofa bed for me. I explained neither elder could get into a tub; I expressed my concern, and asked to speak with Mgr. She said, let me see what I can do and left to get her Mgr. Solange. Mgr. Solange became aggressive in her demeanor, having no sympathy that I drove 6 hrs from PA, with 2 elderly woman with breathing & heart disease issues; needing Walk-in Shower. ac, seeing it was noted on booking. Said same thing that 3rd party bookings don't guarantee your booikg. She offerred accessible tub which we could not use. Stating only 1 room with walk in tub guest extended until 19th. After I expressed my concern to Mgr Solange with no resolution; i asked for the hotel's Corporate ph# to later further report my dissatisfaction of both bookings, that was done well in advance. I said ill take the accessible tub for tonight but cancel other booking, for 5 nights. She stated, since I don't want to accept what her desk rep and what she offered; accessible tub, that their hotel policy allows them to cancel bookings. I was in disbelief that she was upset because I asked for hotel Corporate ph# to report my dissatisfaction. Her wanting to further inconvenience my family. I also told her I called hotel front desk to confirm our needs, she confirmed she could see requested for walk in Shower but because 3rd party Booking with Booking.

This is in regard to The hotel, not the area (which we liked). I forgot to mention it when I reviewed earlier. We had arrived from Florida earlier than expected, and much to our delight, they let us check in a couple of hours early. Was a great relief, and much appreciated.

We reserved a room with two queen beds.

We reserved a room with two queen beds. They gave us a room with a king and a fold-out couch. When we tried to get moved to a room with two queens, they told us they were fully booked, without even an apology. It sucked that someone had to sleep on an uncomfortable pull-out couch when it should have been a bed--if we had known we wouldn't get a room with two queens, we would have booked a different hotel. There was also no bedding in the room for the pull-out couch "bed", so once we realized this we had to go down again to get bedding and then make our own bed after a long day of driving. The bedding provided for the couch was a sheet and a very thin "blanket" so that the person on the couch, which was right beside the air conditioner, was freezing. Worse than the bed situation was that the room, which was supposed to be non-smoking, smelled strongly of smoke. This made it hard to fall asleep and the smell gave me a migraine that lasted the whole next day, ruining a full day of vacation. Also, I've never had cause to notice the cleanliness of a hotel's walls before, but the walls in the room were full-on dirty. And not to pile on, but the TV didn't work. Not the worst thing, by any stretch, but we really could have used the distraction from the place we were in, haha. Overall it was one of the most unpleasant hotel stays I've ever had, and I was extremely sad that we had paid over $200 for something so awful. We couldn't get out of there fast enough in the morning.

Don't try to get anything to eat after 10 pm.

Don't try to get anything to eat after 10 pm. Everything closes, leaving you in a rut. Lots to see, but not much to do. Great if you're just going to get away for a bit and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

    Friendliness of the staff

Friendliness of the staff the complimentary breakfast left a lot to be desired. You need someone there to monitor when items run out and quickly replace it. If you are going to include breakfast take pride in the details.
