The location is absolutely spectacular... ocean is steps away on a beautiful beach with amazing sunsets and very safe quiet surf. Beach towels, loungers, chairs, and hammocks set up daily. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable and the restaurant was great. The staff is caring and adopts every guest by name, especially kids. We LOVED our time at El Velero and would choose to stay here again in a heartbeat!!

Pretty beach...and waves ...I would have preferred calmer sea. The jet skis come in too close to the shore and are hardly ecological. The fish restaurant on the beach is really good.. lovely staff and very fresh food at reasonable prices

The beach was a little disappointing. The access to the beach was piled with trash bags and recycling that needed collected. The concrete tables were in disrepair. Old tire laying on one of the broken benches. The dinner and show at Villa del Sueno was great!Deb - 10Scored 10

Hosts were more than gracious, we had a small issue with the water heater and it was taken care of at our check out. Very nice and available people. Gave us some great advice on restaurants and places to go. Would stay there again.

Playa Hermosa is a wonderful, small area with a fantastic, calm, sandy beach and a front row seat for the beautiful sunsets. We stayed here for our last night in Costa Rica since it's only a short drive to the Liberia airport. I would suggest spending 1 or 2 nights here at the start or end of your vacation. It's a nice alternative to staying at the airport hotel and it's very easy and quick to get to the airport by rental care or transfer (25-35 minutes depending on traffic). Just make sure that you chose the correct Playa Hermosa, there is more than one in Costa Rica!

Hotel is conveniently located on the beach about 30 minutes’ drive from the airport. Hotel was quiet with only a few guests. Plenty of secured convenient parking. Very comfortable, clean and well-appointed quiet room with separate sitting area, outdoor patio with large bathroom and comfortable bed. Breakfast was wonderful, regional foods, served in the quiet exterior dining courtyard poolside. The staff were all welcoming, friendly and very helpful.

Once down on the beach area, there was other hotels and restaurants to use if we wanted to. The beach bar, as it is out of the way, was always uncrowded, and so were the beach beds. They have a Ferris wheel and bumper cars with a churros stand on week ends, which is nice, churros are soooo good!ChantalCanada

We enjoyed staying there for 3 nights. The kitchen was well equipped. The room very comfortable including the bed. We could swim/stay at the swimming pool and play a pool in the little house that was at the propery. All in all, I was very happy to choose Moon Shadow and we would stay there again without any hesitation.
