FAQs about hotels in Glasgow

Fun-loving & Forward-thinking

Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organizations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world-class. Don't miss the futuristic Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, there's something for everybody.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sports. Scotland’s 2 iconic soccer clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national soccer stadium, Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

Last but not least is the shopping in Glasgow. Shopping centers cover everything from name brands to international designers. So when you fly into Glasgow Airport, make sure you've left enough space in your bags!

Amazing how Glasgow has turned around from its grimy industrial past into the liberal cultural place of today. Nearby was the Tenement House museum and also the Royal Scots Fusileers museum apart from the night life of Succihal St Exelent public for exploring further afield.

Glasgow is a city with a history, both great and urban. Beautiful buildings, some with scars from "taggers" like many big cities. However, the people are great and the city has some wonderful dining and entertainment options.

City was charming and people very friendly.

City was charming and people very friendly. If you use the Hop-on-Hop-off bus, be sure to get one “live”. Without the tour guide, you could have been on a city bus. The Riverside transportation museum and tall ship were worth the trip. Kelvin grove Art Gallery was also worth it. Some unusual exhibits.

Lots of things to see and view.

Lots of things to see and view. A lot of attra tions are free such as the Art galleries (well worth a visit) transport museum, the old sailing ship, museum of modern art and Kelvingrove park. Lots of lovely places to eat and great shopping. People are very friendly and helpful. Subway is a great way to get around and there is a good tour bus.

Magnificent buildings, and a superb museum of modern art (GoMA). Extraordinarily diverse range of restaurants/cuisines all close to Glasgow Central and Queen Street railway stations. Also a jumping off point for the incredibly scenic Western Highlands railway. Friendly locals : )

    Very busy but friendly city.

Very busy but friendly city. The local council could do more to keep it clean though! Too much graffiti and litter; footpaths very rocky and littered with broken slaps and patchy repairs. Apart from that, Glasgow is well worth a visit; stunning architecture; grid system streets layout; great food and an iconic railway station at Central.

I loved the location right by Kelvingrove Park and close to the Glasgow University and the best area in Glasgow - West End. There’s a bus stop to the city centre and to the airport (bus 77) literally next to the hotel. We got a big triple room even though we were only 2. Everything was clean and breakfast was good, we are fans of haggis so were very pleased to see it on the menu.

In Glasgow to see a band and a little sight seeing. Impressive looking hotel, staff were friendly and helpful. The location was spot on for the city centre and the airport bus stopped literally around the corner. Had a quick workout in the gym, compact but had a lot of options. Tried the on-site restaurant North, tasty food and good atmosphere.

The hotel is incredibly easy to get to from Glasgow Queen Street train station and is a great location for exploring the city centre. The staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. In terms of value for money it's about the best I've found.

Nice clean hotel, great central to Glasgow location. Nice quirky decor & easily controlled room temperature. Although a city centre location, street noise was to a minimum.
