LOCATION!!!! Right on the town square. Although the room was relatively small it was very well-designed and laid out. Comfortable bed, good lighting and. storage. We had a room on the 2nd floor with a nice balcony, but I was concerned about street noise. No problem. Insulated glass.

Its largest square – Vrijthof – houses the twin churches of St. Jan and St. Servaas, a theater and several sidewalk cafes. Various festivals and the Magic Maastricht Christmas markets are also held here. The city is a gem.
The city is a gem. I am probably biased, as I was raised there, but I have not lived in Maastricht for more than 50 years and come back 2 to 3 times yearly. It is one of the most amazing small cities in Europe.

A beautiful, clean, safe-feeling city with a truly international feel. A huge range of shops, bars and restaurants. A river running through it. An extremely walkable and, unsurprisingly for the Netherlands, cycle-friendly city. We ventured through the city square area to a lower key area on the edge of the centre, that seemed to have fewer tourists and more students, and ate at a good Korean fusion restaurant. We enjoyed some Maastricht-made beer.

What a pretty city in the eastern region of The Netherlands! My husband and I explored the city on foot for three days and discovered lovely shops, wonderful coffeeshops (check out Fixed Gear if you are a cyclist), and interesting restaurants. Every meal we had in the town was delicious, and the locals were unfailingly accommodating.

It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere.
It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere. Beautiful historical areas. There are many parks and green areas to walk through. A lot of hidden gems on the outskirts of the city - definitely worth hopping on the bus from one end to the other and discovering what lies outside of the city center. Must try the breakfast menu from Coffeelovers Plein 1992.
I have been to another Van der Valk and this one didn’t disappoint. The convenience in the location. The opportunity to charge our electric vehicles without worry was a godsend after missing our flight to Switzerland because of finding charging stations that would work. The rooms felt like a bunch of angels came down and told us to just relax and enjoy what Maastricht/NL has to offer without any worries. The front desk staff were exceptional as they went above and beyond taking care of the family.
A great 4-star hotel in Maastricht! Very helpful and friendly staff, they don't see you as "just a guest" but try to interact with you and take interest in what brings you to Maastricht. Very good buffet breakfast and has a bar/lounge that is open until midnight. They also have a pool table near the reception. The hotel also offers the possibility to rent a bicycle for less than €12 a day - I highly recommend this to get around the city!
The location was amazing. The hotel is located in the center of the city and less that a 2 min walk from an underground parking garage. We made our reservation at the last min and the hotel staff welcomed us and insured a speedy and pleasant check-in. We left early in the morning so we did not eat breakfast at the hotel but the spread looked amazing. My wife and I will definitely stay here again next time we are in Maastricht.
The staff were friendly and hospitable. There was soup, coffee, tea and fruits that they offered free of charge.
The room was clean.
The hotel's location was outstanding, situated near the city's central station and only a 10-minute walk from the city centre.
The lobby of the hotel was nice and you could find games and books to enjoy the moments there.
Excellent location. Very comfortable and agreable hotel. Clean, cosy, quite and stylish hotel with unique decoration and nice fresh air zone. The hotel met most of my needs. Good service. Quick response. Friendly and helpful staff. All means of transport are around the hotel. Few minutes walk to downtown and centre of Maastricht.
One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. The cousins are super friendly and accomodating, they make you feel at home. They provided me with lots of recommendations for future travels and places to see in Maastricht. The rooms were beautiful, and super comfy.
The staff were excellent, 24/7 desk service is provided. The atmosphere in the hotel is vibrant and youthful. The location is excellent, right on the banks of the river, right across the street from a beautiful park and 3 mins by bike to the city centre.
Very helpful staff. Accomodated us very well. Kudos to all front desk staff. The location is just opposite Maastricht train station and the bus station is just walking distance. Close to Spar supermarket which is a plus. I recommend this hotel.
The hotel has everything needed for a short stay. The breakfast was really good. The hotel is in front of the central station and only 5 min away from the city centre. The hotel is surrounded by stores, bars and restaurants
