Good, modern hotel. Very good value. Clean, comfortable. About a 5 minute walk to Sendai station (though note, the pedestrian subways around the station are confusing, and not very accessible.) I was very happy with the hotel.

Great town. Nice size - big but but very big, small but only incomprison to very big places - ie more laid back than Tokyo and Osaka etc but more going on than a (picturesque) paddy field. Try the Gyu-tongue set ( or go home really, it is the local thing. very nice)

Unfortunately I was thinking of another hotel when I did my initial review so I badly underscored this hotel. My apologies to Hotel GrandBach - it is an outstanding hotel worthy of a 10 and not the 7 I gave it. Beautiful hotel, modern, clean, wonderful atmosphere, great facilities, amazing onsen, live music, free snacks and beverages in the lounge, friendly and helpful staff, easy location - I can’t commend it more.

Sendai is known as the City of Trees - and for good reason.
Sendai is known as the City of Trees - and for good reason. There's an insane amount of massively large and tall cedar trees everywhere! It's a very easily walkable city and if you need to go to parts beyond there's great transport links, either via the metro, overland train (JR), trams, or even the Sendai City Loople Bus - which takes you around to about a half dozen major attractions - think hop on / hop off.
Must see spots in Sendai are Rinnouji Temple, Zuihoden Mausoleum, Sendai Castle (Aoba Castle), and a little further out of the city (about an hour by train) is Yamadera Temple - not to be missed!
The city is centred around the massive train station in the centre of town and it does not disappoint. There's floors of shopping, restaurants, groceries, fancy food vendors, anything you could want. If you can't find anything in the labyrinthian corridors of the station, venture outside to the over 2500 restaurants and bars. I challenge you to not find something - anything - to satiate yourself with.

I absolutely adored Sendai and will visit again!
I absolutely adored Sendai and will visit again! The only problem that we had was the heat and humidity during the middle of September limited what we could do, but we made the most of our time at the Sendai train station-shopping!, the trees in the area were beautiful (I can see why they call it city of trees), we road the buses quite a bit (air conditioning) so we got to see quite a bit of the city, and made the most of the mall that was near the train station. Felt VERY SAFE there, the only con that I could say would be that unlike Tokyo, there were not to many people who spoke English but we expected that because our daughter works there, however she did most of the translating and figuring out the yen to buy things was actually quite easy, except for the coins. Navigating the trains was pretty easy, the people there knew some english and were quite helpful. It was a wonderful place to do it, very pretty and we will go again next year.
Situated in the main street of Sendai, very close to the metro, my room was on the other side of the street so it was very quiet there. Insulation is also excellent so no sounds from the neighbours could be heard. The room is super big, especially for Japanese hotels, and had its own clothes steam cabinet so you could steam them whenever you wanted. Breakfast is super delicious, there are only two options however. I was in the hotel for 2 weeks but never got tired of the pasta option.
Located right by Sendai station. We drove to Sendai and were grateful for their convenient 1500 yen a day garage parking. When snow unexpectedly stranded us in town another day, they allowed us to book an extra day in our current room.
Room was clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable.
This hotel has a great location! The station was right next door. Easy walk to the Parco Malls, shopping/ arcade street, and several restaurants.
The staff was very friendly and patient. It was my first time at a capsule hotel and my japanese was limited. The staff used a translation device and even guided my group through the check-in process and facilities.
The facilities were very clean, I saw staff members making rounds through the floors to ensure everything was clean and stocked.
I very much enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back!
Location is very convenient, it takes only a 10 minutes bus ride or a 20 minutes walk to get to Sendai station. It is also next to the major shopping area Ichibancho. Convenience store is just less than a minutes’ walk away.
The staff is helpful. The rooms facing the front of the hotel enjoy a decent street view. Amenities can be obtained in the lobby.
Hotel was reasonably near to Sendai Station (about 7-8mins walk) but quiet as it was on a small street. 7/11 nearby. It was easy to locate (big vertical signboard made it especially easy at night) and the lobby was very warm and welcoming. Staff was prompt and helpful - my room was good, it felt a little more spacious too. Room was very clean
I loved everything about Sakura Terrace.
The staff, the facilities, cleanliness, location (10mins from Metro and next to TsuTsuJigaoka Park etc), area around the hotel.
Bathrooms and toilet seats are so advanced, exceeded expectations.
Indeed, i found Sendai the best city in Japan because of its calm, soundless and pleasant environment.
Good location, the hotel is between Sendai and Aobadori Station. Aobadori station is near the long shopping alley and Aeon. Sendai station offers a variety of stuff. There a lot of convenience stores nearby as well. Family mart, 7 eleven and Lawson.
Bath was good as well. Large enough bath tub. Bathroom amenities are all provided.
Very clean and spacious room. Bathroom is huge. The hotel can be accessed from JR Sendai by following the signs to the Sendai Subway and exit via West 1. It’s sheltered all the way and there are lifts as well. The hotel is directly connected to a Starbucks and 7-11 and located near many shops and restaurants.
A good sized room. Free toiletries and appliances. Super clean. The staff are lovely as well. The location is very close to the station and town centre.
To add some perspective, I’ve stayed I. Japan on 4 separate occasions and in 17 different hotels. For the money this is the best one. I highly rate it.
Conveniently located near the Sendai train station which is also where many of the bus stations were. 7-Eleven and Starbucks are available just right below the hotel. Hotel looks new with modern aesthetics, and rooms are spacious as compared to most average hotels in Japan.
Excellent hotel, close to Sendai JR station about a 10 minute easy walk.
Super staff friendly and helpful, early bag drop off.
Super room, light and airy with a city view.
Brilliant laundry facilities using 100 yen coins.
I enjoy stayed at Hotel GrandBach Sendai. The hotel takes only 5 minute walk from sendai station, have convenient store under the hotel. Hotel's staffs are very helpful on accept and sending my luggages to other city.
Staff were very helpful. Very clean rooms. Hotel is located close to everything you would want on a holiday in Japan. 2 minutes walk to the Sendai Train Station
The location is great. You can easily access the public transport and even walk to Sendai station. The hotel locates near to subway and shopping street.
