A great location in between the bustle of Naha/Chatan and some of the major attractions up north. The area is a good mix of traditional Okinawan culture and modern tourist expectations. There are a lot of great places to eat—Minami sushi, Mainichi Shokudo, Obbligato, Sabroso—satisfying both conservative and adventurous eaters. If you are not prepared wisely, it will be hard to: 1. get around 2. finding appropriate information about the local sights 3. access to local restaurants 4. no people to be seen on the street, no taxis either 5. beach is good, but surroundings and welcome by locals is very rare and limited. Breakfast is awesome! The private beach is best on the whole island with all kinds of beach tools you can dream of: SUP, sea kayak, snorkeling tools, life vests, floats of several kind. Free drinks and snacks in the afternoon. Konbinis far and you can ride the free bikes to visit them. Any requests we had night and day the people at reception provided immediately.
