I enjoyed my stay at The Lost Camel. It’s part of the greater Ayers Rock Resort, and while breakfast isn’t included in the daily rate, I had good meal options at the cafes and eateries nearby. I even treated myself to a buffet dinner at the nearby Sails in the Desert. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable, and I really liked the layout with the sink, shower, and toilet separate from one another. The shower was basically its own little room. All in all, the amenities were very good. I just wish I had made time to use the pool! Also, there are free shuttle services—one to take you to and from the airport as well as one to take you around the resort and its various sites and activities. The hotel is good at keeping you informed of the line up of (free) activities and experiences available at the resort, all of which are a stone’s throw from the hotel or a quick shuttle drive away.

Reception staff were very helpful and immediately addressed a concern we had. We also experienced staff as being well-informed. The apartment kitchen is well-equipped - a plus since dining options in the area are a bit limited. We loved the art gallery that is adjacent to the apartments and it’s so great that the apartments are close to where free cultural presentations take place!

    Better than I expected!

Better than I expected! People - HIRE A BIKE, not a segwey!! Soooo much cheaper and you can ride all the way around in 3 hours. We originally booked segweys but cancelled due to the exhorbitant cost and got bikes instead which ended up so much better because they're faster and more comfortable and you don't have to worry about how to ride it so you can concentrate fully on taking in the scenery. Also a mesh flyscreen hat!! Life saver for everywhere around here. We didn't need it for Uluru because we went in the am but definitely did for other places like Kata Tjuta later that day.
