very nice and friendly staff, big and clean room with comfortable bed. the location is next to the pier, so you have a lot of restaurants, cafe and bars around but in the same time plays feel quiet and remote and quiet at night. i also rent bike at the property and it was nice bike to ride around the island

There is a towel, place to sit near the reception if you want to play with your phone or make some phone calls. The owner tried to help me to find the place she was nice. The locker is big but you don't really have a locker, I just found a key there.

DisclaiDisclaimer: After reading all the bad reviews, we decided to last minute upgrade to a Deluxe Bedroom directly in the resort which wasn't nearly as cheap but still well within reason. We did check out the location on the other side of the road and much further back at night, but the only thing that we can say ist, the one on the other side of the road looked good from the outside, the one further back closer to the pier looked older. No idea about the inside. We suspect that upkeep during corona was too high so the bungalows/rooms outside of the resort degraded. What we can say is that the staff was super friendly, professional and helpful all around, so maybe it was more about the expectations or how angry others already were when they talked to staff. We did not regret the upgrade though. Room was super clean and modern, very close to the beach, pool, bars and restaurants (I recommend walking along the beach), locationwise it was amazing. We did not try the bar/restaurant of the resort.mer: After reading al

Great location on a hill with amazing views. The lodge is still close to restaurants, bars, and shops. You can tell that the owner paid attention to every little detail, providing books, a yoga mat, music box, plates and cutlery, etc. Another big plus is that they organize your pick-up and drop-off at the pier, which makes traveling here super easy. We had an amazing time here, extended our stay for two more days and still were not ready to leave this place after a week. We really hope to come back one day!

Koh Tao is still one of the few raw escapes in Thailand in my opinion, its divers and back packers heaven. However as a father with 2 kids in my forties i absolutely loved it. If you step away from the busy areas and off the beaten track you can find amazing coves and hiden gems still. The tourism all over the world has killed so much of our wildlife and reefs. The locals are definitely trying to do all they can to save it. Brilliant food, amazing views and a fun island.

    We loved Koh Tao.

We loved Koh Tao. Sairee beach is a great area but you can stay anywhere and still have access as it's such a small island. We took a boat trip out to the island for snorkelling which was fab. Don't book in advance. Go onto the beach and haggle with the locals to take you over as it works out so much cheaper especially if you are a family. Highly recommend breakfast at Mango Garden...go hungry!! All In all a beautiful island and great for families as not too crazy busy!

    I enjoyed Koh Tao.

I enjoyed Koh Tao. It is bigger with many more shops and restaurants than I expected. It is clean. The swimming and snorkeling were fabulous. Exploring the cafes and restaurants up high in the mountains is well worth while. People are kind and friendly.

Koh Tao is easy to get around with if you can ride a scooter. Most of the restaurant can make a delicious food and fresh. It would be a paradise for divers, plenty dive sites around and easy to get there with a cheap price. If you not diving, then hiking is a good choice as well. Koh Tao have multiples beautiful route to hike, and it is amazing!

    Loved koh Tao.

Loved koh Tao. Very small island with lots of nice locals and plenty of tourists who are mostly there as backpackers or scuba diving training. I was neither of these and was simple there for a vacation. Had a great time here! Best food options. Didn’t have anything bad! Only thing I would say it’s very hilly and I can’t say it’s wheelchair friendly at all

First visit to any of Thailand's Islands and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Quite the journey day flying from Bangkok's DMK to Suratthani City, transfer to the Sura Tthani Lomprayah High Speed Catamaran service, bus ride to the ferry and ferry ride with stops at two other islands on the way to Ko Tao. Your mileage may vary. A knowledgeable traveler may be able to find a more efficient way to get to Ko Tao. The cost of living may be higher on the islands, but it's still very affordable for most visiting tourists. We enjoyed exploring restaurants and found some nice places to eat. Also did some dives with Crystal Diving, near the Mai Head Pier - nice folks. We ended up on the 'speed boat' back to Surat Thani - not for the feint of heart. <grin> Large speed boat, something like 50 Pax, sitting on bench seats with backs, wearing life preservers and bouncing all the way back. Got us back to Surat Thani in good time. If you're prone to motion sickness take Bonine/Dramamine/meclazine BEFORE the trip leaves - you're going to want it.

Everything! I have been to many 5* star hotels but this one definitely is in my all time top 5 list. Very friendly staff that breathe the cool island vibe. Amazing that they offer free kajak, SUP and mask+snorkel rent. We did our own little kajak beach hopping tour on the west coast. Attention to small details like the water pool for washing the feet after coming from the beach back to your room. Amazing view from the terrace, very romantic ;) super comfortable bed and pillows. less than 10 meters to the ocean. Highly recommended!

Better than expected since it only got an 8. The beach area is perfect, with pool, bar, cheap massages, and a barbeque on the beach with fire show. We had the deluxe room and it was very nice with outside terrace. Location is also 10/10, in the mid of Sairee beach. The hotel has taxi boats for 300 baht round trip to Koh Nangyuan. Also free transfer to pier. And the best was that we forget all our money😂 and they quickly whatsapped us and brought in to the pier before our boat departed.

Savage is more like a hotel than a hostel - even the 16 bed dorm felt like luxury with the beds being self contained and so spacious. I had the best nights sleep and the staff were so helpful. The roof and pool are definitely a highlight and perfect for chilling out. The location is fully central (right opposite Sairee beach and around all the best restaurants). I couldn’t recommend staying here more.
