The outside of the hotel gives a modest impression hiding a real gem inside with a magnificent open patio/courtyard where you can enjoy breakfast under a blue sky or relax in the shades of the trees. The room was spacious with a high ceiling and two French balconies adding to the spacious feeling. The beds were fabulous.

As I mentioned in my main review, during the time of our stay, Cordoba Feria was on, so the place was pretty rammed with visitors, especially in the Old Town and Judiah sectors.
Similarly, it was necessary to pre-book restaurants for both lunch and dinner each day as all the decent ones were pretty much full. Also, dining times are a lot later than in the UK, lunch often between 1400 and 1600 and dinner between 2100 and 2330 hours. Interestingly, 90% of bars and restaurants plus a lot of the shops, seem to close between 1600 and 2000 hours, a throwback I think to days of siestas.
Temperature wise, in May it was about perfect during the daytime, in shorts and tee shirts, especially when the sun was out which was most of the time. However a fleece is definitely required in the evenings, especially if dining al fresco.
Had a very pleasant stay, and saw most of what I had intended to, but unsure whether I would be in a hurry to come back, especially given how busy the tourist areas were plus it proved quite a challenge to navigate the narrow streets especially if you happened to get caught up with a guided tour party of which there were many.
Oh, and very few people speak English either so to have a few words of basic Spanish is recommended.

Cordoba is well worth a visit.
Cordoba is well worth a visit. The old town is small enough to walk around on foot and the Mezquita and the Alcazar are amazing. Just walking around the old streets is really special. If you are thinking of going there do it!!

I came for the Festival of Patios and I saw 36 in the week I was there. I saw two flamenco shows in the Plaza, and I visited all the important sights: the Alcazar, the Mezquita, the Juderia, the Puente Romano, and I took a side trip to Medina al-Zahra. I recommend the City Sightseeing Bus for a first-day orientation to the city. It's very easy to get lost there.

Cordoba is a very interesting city with lots of historical buildings. We were lucky to arrive during the flower festival. I would visit Cordoba again. However local food is not good for gluten free problems so its salad, salad, salad!

It is a fun and warming city, the city was packed as this is the “patios season” so there were lots of gardens to see on top of all attractions like the “Mesquita- Cathedral”, cross the “Roman bridge”, the Alcázar, Baths and so own and even then the folks working or even citizens from Cordoba were very nice with tourists, I even got indications of patios to see and restaurants
We stayed for two nights visiting Cordoba. We received a warm, friendly and helpful welcome. The hotel is located about 15 minutes from the centre in a quiet suburb. A taxi to the centre costs around EUR10. It's a fairly large hotel in a park setting, lots of grass and trees. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite which was very spacious and comfortable. There are function rooms and conference facilities. Our dog was welcome, which is not always the case in Spain. We had a meal in the restaurant, which was good but the menus was limited.
The 5/5 stars on google and the 9.9/10 ratings on booking.com are definitely well deserved! We liked the unique interior design a lot. The entrance was welcoming and cutely organised. The receptionist took her time to sit down with us and introduce to us the attractions, food choices and secret tip of Córdoba. Our car was taken care of by the staff, which was all in all very helpful. We felt like at home and the familiar staff members fulfilled all our wishes and more. We‘ll definitely visit Cordoba and Hotel Suite Generis again!
Cordoba Centre is a old fashioned descent hotel from the turn of the last century when construction work in Spain was carried out with the highest possible standard in building materials The doors are solid , the bath room with marble and a real bath. The beds are very comfortable and the decoration although updated since the hotel was built, still keeping its end of the 90ties conservative style. No shouting colours, no led light or black & grey walls. Very pleasant indeed.
close to shops, attractions, restaurants, parking nearby. Very clean with basics provided (Coffee, tea/kettle a couple of pans/pots) Shower was the best I've experienced in my 2 wks in Spain-nice temperature, pressure, adjustable flow AND the shower door closed properly so no leaks or water all over!! YAY! :) Temperature/heat was lovely with air-flow from open windows. Towels, soap, shampoo, toilet paper provided adequately for my stay.
Location was amazing, right in the center of jewish quarter and close to very nice streets and cute stores and restaurants. Also close to all the attractions, hotel is literally in front of the mezqita. Entrance was free from 8.30 to 9.30 so location was very convenient. Staff was helpful, they helped is with parking and gave recommendations about restaurants and things to do in Cordoba. Breakfast was okay, open bouffe had variety.
Rooms were fantastic! Modern, comfortable and spacious. Great for a short or long stay with nice sized bathroom, main room and kitchen area that had a washer and cloths drying rack. Best air conditioning in Spain! Area was 10 min walk from the center with lots of great restaurants and bars nearby. Hosts were great at communication and available for any questions. 15 min walk from Train Station wasn't bad either.
Amazing breakfast. Great pool area with slippers and towels provided. Amazing location in main central square. Great rooftop bar with views over main square. Staff were super attentive and offered complimentary Cava at check in. The room was bright and airy with a view over the square. Huge bathroom had a hydromassage tub and a large wet room. Best stay during our tour of Spain
I happened to travel on the day severe floods had totally disrupted the rail network in Spain. Although the hotel allows check-in till midnight, it was clear that - if I managed to get to Cordoba - I would arrive much later. Management was extremely generous and flexible and decided to wait for me anyway. Luckily I made it for 1am.
Very nice to have access to the baths.
The view was a courtyard that was used for parties and it was loud sometimes but didn't continue when we slept. The hotel is across the river from the city but walking across the bridge was beautiful.
Garage was easy to park and use the elevator to our room
Linens were nice. And in room fridge was great. You drink a lot of water in Spain.
The location was excellent but the facilities were quite dated and did not match the photos online. The HVAC system in the room was loud and unresponsive to temperature controls. The website suggests the hotel has a rooftop deck with pool and restaurant, neither of which appeared to be in working condition when I was there.
Absolutely beautiful four star hotel and I'd give it an extra star 🌟 for the lovely staff, Christian and Paloma and co were so so nice. My wife is planning to return for a longer stay next Feb, with or without me. We loved Cordoba and we loved our stay in Hotel Madinat, thank you!
A beautiful hotel located in the city centre (spectacular historical building) with spacious and luxurious rooms, a swimming pool and great terrace and bar upstairs. The hotel staff was really friendly and accommodated all of our requests. The best location for a stay in Cordoba.
The location of this hotel is great, in the heart of Cordoba, right by the Mosque. We had the room with terrace and so we sit a lovely view. The room and bathroom were very spacious and spotlessly clean. I would gladly stay here again.
Staff is very nice, friendly
Most comfortable bed that I've slept in during my trip to Spain!
Front desk employees are great. Good system for storing luggage before my room was ready.
Super clean.
Excellent HVAC control in the room.
The hotel is situated outside Cordoba old town. But the hotel itself is very nice. Great architecture, amazing staff and restaurant. And they have swimming pool and play areas for kids.
This is the best hotel in Cordoba and also in Spain, it was built in the Middle Ages. Everything from the furniture and the hotel is antique
The staff is very kind and helpful
This was an exceptional experience. Alvaro could not have been a better host. Everything was explained in detail. It was the best apartment of our whole trip in Spain.
Decent location. Kinda of business location. Not in neighborhood. About 20 min walk to Jewish Quarter, etc. Bed was best I’ve slept on in Spain. I like FIRM.
