Absolutely stunning! The drive up is incredible with amazing views at every turn. Gergeti Trinity Church with Mount Kazbeg towering behind it was breathtaking - one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. Great hiking, fresh mountain air, and jaw-dropping scenery everywhere. The town is busy being on the Georgian Military Highway and lacks the charm of other towns. However, the beauty is in the absolutely gorgeous surrounding landscape and the hiking. "I'll never get tired of returning to Stepantsminda. A leisurely hike to Kazbegi is always worthwhile. Summer offers breathtaking views of the majestic mountain, but I successfully hiked in mid-April when the snow was still present, and the weather was manageable. Even with snow lining the road to Gergeti Trinity Church, the path remains walkable.
