It was a great experience.
It was a great experience. Mountain was warmer up the to & colder at the bottom. It's wise to go up the gondola ride see the mountain close up front. There is snow field up the top for seating & restaurant. National park is just mesmerising very iconic. Worth visiting. I would go again next time for the crossing.Guest review byShamshad BegumNew Zealand - 10.0

Ohakune is a town still recovering from COVID and some not so good ski seasons, but it is beautiful and well worth the visit. Apart from skiing and snowboarding, the mountain is a beautiful place to hike, mountain bike, or just visit for the view. Ohakune is small and easy to get around, with great cafes and restaurants. The ski shops are fantastic with really helpful staff (TCB is amazing).Guest review byKateNew Zealand - 4.0
The management is chaotic. I lost my ski poles.
The management is chaotic. I lost my ski poles. It took me an hour to find them among three girls. I found that all their equipment was someone else's. I was shocked. There were too many novices. My friend's child was hit three times in one day. It was really dangerous.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

National Park walks were stunning and the area truly deserves its World Heritage status. You could choose the difficulty and timing of your hikes. Easy to find your way round. Use some sandfly repellent and soother on hikes as you might be bitten. The bites are not pleasant and take a few days to stop itching. We had great accomodation which allowed us to self-cater- so no restaurant reviews.Guest review byAnonymousAustralia - 8.0

Roomy, relaxing, peaceful, clean - had most of what we needed. A few basic things missing that would have been appreciated - salt, soap, dishcloth, lock on bathroom door, working oven/grill. But over-all we enjoyed the stay and it met our needs for a 2 night stayGuest review bySaraNew Zealand - 8.0

This location feels really remote,it's very quiet with interesting landscape and somewhat eerie. The rooms are fairly basic but do have everything you require. It's great value for money however and an excellent option for those travelling on a limited budget.Guest review byclaireNew Zealand - 8.0

National Park Village is a great jumping-off spot for skiing Whakapapa. It was easy to jump on a shuttle up to the ski field, grab some last minute gear from the local ski hire and we had a lovely apre-ski meal at a local restaurant (there were a couple of options to choose from). The petrol station/convenience store has everything you need for a short stay.Guest review byJoNew Zealand - 8.0

We loved our visit. Fantastic views and quality time.
We loved our visit. Fantastic views and quality time. Easy to get around in a standard car. Weather conditions were clear and bright, mild cold temperatures so a very minimal amount of ice on the road. We recommend the sky waka gondola. The skotel alpine resort is a good place to stay.Guest review byMikaylaNew Zealand - 10.0

It's a decent small town in the middle of no where in rural nature. Close to the National Park town and Tongariro/ Ruapehu mountains. No real commodities in terms of gas stations and shops however but the National Park Town is only 5 minutes away.Guest review bySaahirNew Zealand
