Kitchen had all the items required and wifi was provided (this is often not the case in Honiara). Perfect location, if you are visiting honiara and needing a place to stay longer than 1 or 2 nights.

United StatesThe hosts, JR and Jen, were super friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the shower water was hot. The room cooled off nicely at night so sleeping with the fan was comfortable. The gardens had pretty flowering and fruiting trees. Taking a bus downtown was easy. The hosts did everything they could to make my stay go smoothly and communication with them was very efficient.

Tourism here is quite undeveloped compared to other Pacific countries but I found Karen at Iumi Tour Solomons excellent. She arranged a couple of day tours when I was stranded in Honiara due to frequently changed flight schedules. I was there to visit the US Marine Corps battle sites: Edson's Ridge, Alligator Creek, Battle of Henderson Field, and others. There's a lot to see in 1 week, so plan in advance what you want to see - and get in shape to hike in the heat. Not set up for independent tourists, it's still possible to go and arrange thing yourself. i hired a banana boat to take me to Roderick Bay to see the wreck of the World Discoverer with a stopover in Tulagi. There's no a lot to do in the main centre so get away from the dust and see a bit of the island. The dive shop is shut for walk-in business, but i was told to ring to arrange something. The beach at Bonegi is worth the visit for snorkeling on the WW2 wreck. The Sugar Plum restaurant in the Art Gallery is good cheapish food. Next door is a path to take you to a more upmarket and excellent breakfast cafe called the Breakwater. There's a sign outfront.Guest review byMarkAustralia - 6.0
It offers people a view of a primitive society.
It offers people a view of a primitive society. It is safe, and offers interesting historical and cultural views. The hotels vary and are clean and safe. Tours are available to see historic places from World War II that were active in the Solomon Islands. There are ways to enjoy the water snorkeling at a few places that are really beautiful. This is not a sandy beach, luxury island. Water ways are also used for disposing of garbage. The streets are covered with Beetle nut spit. You don't walk barefoot. Shanty's line the streets in out of town. Individual gardens are the source of food. But grocery stores are starting to import canned and dried goods. Their gardens provide most of the food. They arranged a free airport transfer to the hotel, the check in was easy, and the room was clean with all the necessities (a comfy bed, a work station, TV, bath tub and hot water). I particularly appreciated the working A/C, which made the room very comfortable to stay in. Lower your expectations as it's a good hotel for the area and the cost. It's well situated for local cafes/restaurants (next door a highlight). There is a gift shop on site and you are able to change money at the front desk. Walking into the grounds from the hustle and bustle of Honiara it feels like an oasis.
