Loved how easy the city was to navigate on foot and find...
Loved how easy the city was to navigate on foot and find your way from site to site. Handy signposts were great. I ate on the go - Subway & tried Sibylla for first time. Started off full of energy thanks to the solid breakfast provided all-inclusive at my hostel. Managed to squeeze in Umedalen Sculpture Park, Women's History Museum, Bildmuseet plus nearby giant clothespeg sculpture, Västerbotten Museum, Umeå City Church and the local cinema in my 2 day stay. Not bad! Riverside walkway also made for a charming saunter beside the frozen river. Sadly no SSL/Allsvenskan innebandy matches played for me to attend while there and the Guitar Museum was closed but makes for great reasons to return :)

Umeå is nice city with beautiful river side city center. Everything is at walking distance and there are many interesting shops and cafes at pedestrian zone. Umea is a wonderful nordic city with a small population.
Umea is a wonderful nordic city with a small population. The city is generally safe and the people are generally welcoming and willing to assist especially when visitors seem lost. The cost of living seems to be high compared to other places but this is understandable given the high incomes and standard of living in Sweden. It is very special, stylish and nice, rooms are - of course, its an old prison cell - small and have common use bathrooms and showerd, which are good an absolutely clean. There is a large common room an the groundfloor and the kitchen on the 1st floor can be used by guests. A ggod Swedish breakfast is included. All staff are very courteous and friendly, The hotel is close to the riverfront and some 800m from the center of Umeå

Included breakfast was pretty standard and nothing to complain about. Nice with the local newspaper available. Check in late is easy with a code box. Only 100 meters from skiing tracks and of course running in summer. Have stayed more central before but will definitely return to this hotel.
