Central location with easy access to town although the room and the bathroom were on the small side. Excellent breakfast in nice surroundings but had to wait quite a while for it to arrive at the table.

Totally enjoyed Broken Hill, the Royal Flying Doctors museum is a must, very interesting. Silverton was interesting with Mad Max museum, the donkeys wandering around the town. The Palace Hotel was interesting, I wish I stayed there. Go to the museums is a must. Broken Hill has very welcoming feel about it and I plan to return to it again.

BH is a great place to visit.

BH is a great place to visit. The city is small and easy to see walking. It is laid out in a grid pattern the streets are named after mining terms, east-west streets minerals and north-south streets chemicals ending in -ide. Lots of mining history, lots of art and culture, including the Pro Hart gallery. In the main streets, the old sandstone buildings are beautiful. Many of the old mining cottages have been retained and are well lived-in. Good places to eat, some modern restaurants and cafes, and some traditional pub bistros and clubs.

The free walking tours run out of the Information were very good, we did 2 which gave us 2 different views and information. The history and art are well worth visiting for. Menindee lakes were teaming with bird life unfortunatly most of the roads were closed in the National park. Silverton was another fasination day out with a visit to the mine.Travelling by train made this a relaxed and enjoyable break.

    History, beautiful heritage buildings.

History, beautiful heritage buildings. Did the walk, very knowledgeable local as our guide. Also did the tour of The Palace which is worth the trip to Broken Hill in itself. The town is a little tired at present with shops closed or shut early as it seems to need a few more tourists. Living desert sculptures was so special at sunset. Definitely worth a few days visit if you’re heading out that way .

It has so much to see and we did. We had planned what we wanted to do. It was so informative. It was so peaceful compared to were we live. I would recommend it to all. We had dinner at the palace It was every thing we expected food was excellent. We ate at the Silverton pub after our tour of the day dream mine. Great pub tub as they say. We went to Pro Harts museum, made Max museum , The Synogogue, the big picture. Had a helicopter ride and saw broken hill from the air.

Very friendly helpful staff who made available a motel room that was pet friendly. Easy check in after driving all day and great shower with good water pressure.Clean room with basic needs such as microwave and plates etc. Flat screen TV with netflix and comfortable beds. Grassed area to walk the dog and in town, so walking distance to eat dinner. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Broken Hill with my dog.
