Raise your wine glass and toast the beautiful city of Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne River. The main city centre is beautiful and worth a visit. There is an abundance of great bars, restaurants, cafes, tabacs and a host of attractions to see. The main part of the city centre is clean and the people in this part of the city are welcoming. It would be nice if there were two visitor centers, not one.Sadly,too, the Hop on Hop off was a little disappointing, too. Also, the construction along the River Garonne was difficult to walk around. Bordeaux is a lovely city and very walkable. Lots of bars, cafes and restaurants everywhere. Saturday markets in the street were great and give the city a real buzz. The tram from the airport accesses the center of the town and is a very good, reliable and cheap service. The area along the side of the river is very nice and lots of people gather there just to enjoy the view. Bordeaux is a very elegant city, with beautiful old buildings and plenty of other tourist attractions. Public transport is excellent, the tram system makes it easy to reach outlying attractions.
