United StatesThis hotel feels like the overgrown Jumanji house in the absolute best way. Yes it's a bit older and it was closed many years after covid and just re-opened May 2025 (hence so few reviews), but it's a really beautiful hotel. Big rooms, lots of jungle surrounding the place, and it's perched on a hill for nice views of sunset and the water. I think the real reason the hotel is exceptional is because of the manager, though. He goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect for you - from latenight airport runs, to island tours, to making sure you get signed up for all the tours and get all the photos you want. He really has put his all into this hotel and making it a nice place, and in a place like Yap where connections and conversations are the only thing that will get you where you want to be as a tourist, it's important to have a connection like him. He also makes a great breakfast.
