It’s a lovely town with access to the lake and a local rail/tram network. Various cultural activities and we timed it nicely for the annual ceramics fair. We used it as a base from which to travel to visit friends locally but it was relaxing and a lovely stay.Guest review byJulia - 10.0

Pretty little town on the lake, with a couple of excellent restaurants nearby serving local cuisine mostly. Lots to see, lovely walks, hikes and drives. One glaring problem they need to address ASAP. Very nice city with a breathtaking view with a castle on the lake and high hills covered in clouds. The lake is crystal clear, so perfect for swimming, or sailing. There are ferrys that can take you to other parts of the lake. Just an absolutely gorgeous and clean city with very welcoming people. Many art galleries and all sorts of exhibitions. It is a little further from Gmunden, but as long as you enjoy walking for a bit of exercise to go into town, it is ideal. There are a lot of trails and bike paths nearby as well.
