The city is small and easy to get around, uber is cheap and there are many buses too. The old town is a beautiful spot with many Lithuanian traditional food spots and free events in the main square through summer. It is very green with a short distance to travel to forests and lakes. A very attractive and interesting city with much to see and do We discovered historical things about the city that we previously knew little or nothing about. We did not use public transport as most things were in walking distance, Plenty of choice of restaurants and types of cuisine. Nice parks. Tourist office very helpful. A Hidden Gem in Europe - Vilnius Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Vilnius is a stunning city that truly exceeded my expectations. From its picturesque cobblestone streets to the charming old town, every corner of this city feels steeped in history, yet full of vibrant life. I loved the mix of old and new – medieval architecture sits alongside modern cafes, trendy bars, and art galleries. The Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site and definitely worth exploring, with its cozy squares, stunning churches, and quaint streets. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and it’s easy to walk everywhere. I highly recommend visiting the Gediminas Tower for panoramic views of the city and taking a stroll along the beautiful river that runs through Vilnius. Vilnius is also known for being incredibly affordable compared to other European capitals. Dining out is a delight – from local Lithuanian dishes to international flavors, there’s something for every palate. The cafes are perfect for people-watching, and the overall vibe is welcoming and laid-back. I also loved how green the city is. There are plenty of parks, and the surrounding nature is perfect for a peaceful getaway. The city’s public transportation system is efficient and easy to use, making it convenient to explore all the wonderful sights. Overall, Vilnius is a charming, vibrant, and affordable destination that I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique European experience. It’s right in the centre. The bed was super big and comfy. The room is so modern I had a nice view of the Gedimino castle. Staff very friendly. Amazing value for money. If I come to Vilnius I will book this hotel again. The room smelt lovely as well. And I felt extremely safe here as a solo traveler. I arrived to an unusually rainy and cold summer, and the staff readily offered me an umbrella to tour the old town. The hotel is located about 800m away from the city centre which I found to be perfect as I enjoy a bit of walking, and it helps to be a small distance away from touristy activities.
