The city is small and easy to get around, uber is cheap and there are many buses too. The old town is a beautiful spot with many Lithuanian traditional food spots and free events in the main square through summer. It is very green with a short distance to travel to forests and lakes. We did not use public transport as most things were in walking distance, Plenty of choice of restaurants and types of cuisine. Nice parks. Tourist office very helpful. From its picturesque cobblestone streets to the charming old town, every corner of this city feels steeped in history, yet full of vibrant life. I loved the mix of old and new – medieval architecture sits alongside modern cafes, trendy bars, and art galleries. The Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site and definitely worth exploring, with its cozy squares, stunning churches, and quaint streets. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and it’s easy to walk everywhere. I highly recommend visiting the Gediminas Tower for panoramic views of the city and taking a stroll along the beautiful river that runs through Vilnius. Vilnius is also known for being incredibly affordable compared to other European capitals. Dining out is a delight – from local Lithuanian dishes to international flavors, there’s something for every palate. The cafes are perfect for people-watching, and the overall vibe is welcoming and laid-back. I also loved how green the city is. There are plenty of parks, and the surrounding nature is perfect for a peaceful getaway.
