It's an attractive town, with good restaurants and shopping and lovely architecture and historic landmarks. The park is lovely too, and we visited museo casa de cervantes which was quite a highlight and beautifully presented. Quite an underrated town I would say. We ate at a couple of good restaurants la tasquita which is a good tapas bar and also Los zagales where we had a fixed price menu which was excellent.

Beautiful old town and Plaza Mayor.

Beautiful old town and Plaza Mayor. Cathedral is less impressive. During my visit in September a festival was going on and the city was alive with music and food stalls every where. A lot of bike lanes and bikes for hire make you go around the city very easy.

Lovely, compact city to stroll around.

Lovely, compact city to stroll around. Plenty of cafes/bars/restaurants. Some fabulous architecture. Places worth visiting are National Sculpture Museum, Cathedral and Parque Campo Grande (beautiful, tranquil Park in the centre of the city). Unfortunately, the Casa de Cervantes was closed the weekend I was there, so can't comment on it. I had no need for public transport except when I went to the football stadium (which is 2/3km beyond the river). Overall, a very friendly, pleasant and safe city. Would definitely return.

We picked Valladolid a convenient place to rest, for a couple of days, on a long journey but it is a fascinating small city with a rich history and lots to see on foot, a huge range of places to drink and eat and watch the world go by.

We had driven across Spain and where actually booked into The Gran Posada la Mesnade at Olmedio , which on arrival was a complete disaster, being empty , dark and freezing cold , so we were left in a bit of a jam as we were extremely tired and had dogs with us . Luckily I found the ibis on Booking . Com and we stayed there for the night . The staff were extremely helpful , and provided a ground floor room which was easy with the dogs . An evening meal and very comfortable bedroom . Good breakfast and excellent coffee !

The hotel is very centrally located close to everything to see and do in Valldolid. The Plaza Mayor is a 5-minute walk and so is the Plaza de Zorilla and Campo Grande park. The House of Cervantes Museum is 2 minutes away and the Pisuerga river and bridges, close-by as well. Staff was very friendly, the room was small but extra comfortable, spotless clean, temperature was right, and there was a small balcony! The streets where it is located are pedestrian ways, so it's a perfect place! Highly recommended!

Very nice hotel located in the centre of Valladolid, close to the cathedral. There are other tourist attractions nearby. There are many restaurants and bars around the hotel. The rooms are spacious enough, with comfortable beds and a small kitchen (no kettle though). The hotel staff are extremely polite and helpful! A nice surprise was the wine available at the hotel. The hotel owners have vineyards in both Ribera de Duero and Toro regions and good wine was available for sale and for a small tasting.

Spacious very well appointed hotel with excellent room overlooking the River Douro (called the Duero in Spain). Not in the city centre but in a very nice part of town with easy access to centre. Location ideal for overnight stay on drive to Bilbao with secure parking and easy to find on good road network. Although quiet when we were there the restaurant served delicious food and was reasonably priced. All in all a very successful stay.

The best part of my stay was the hostess, an absolutely wonderful and charismatic lady who was happy to help or offer advice on anything! It was my first day in Spain and she made me feel at home from the very first moment. In addition to the hostess’ warmth, the facilities were immaculate, the people I shared a room with were lovely, and the location was unbeatable.
