The city is a mixture of old and new architecture, with a nice and vibrant old city, and a newer side of the city which looks like any other European big capital. Free transportation makes it easier to commute from everywhere, but to be honest, two days is already too much for what Luxemburg offers in terms of touristic attractions. Main attraction (on paper) is the old castle, which underground corridors could be visited, but in all honesty could be better preserved and guided tour being a requirement to understanding the history behind the walls.Guest review byAdrian - 10.0

It was the most surprising visit to a European capital.. in a good way. Public transport in Luxembourg is completely free - that's incredible! The trams also have extraordinary lightning. The city is very clean, like probably the cleanest city I've ever been to. The free transportation is awesome and allows you to go an go back to many locations as long as the hotel is close to a tram stop or bus stop. The food was good they had many cuisine options. Transport is modern, reliable and FREE , all over the Country so take advantage and move about the country. the City is walk-able in the old town and very cosmopolitan and mixed cultures--- French , German or English widely spoken with luxemburgish, although you'll hear many different languages spoken. out in the Country-side , buses get you round effortlessly and are modern and regular too. An interesting place to visit - lots of history and pretty walks through the town. As you would expect, influences from France and Germany but with a local twist. Probably not on everyone's radar but worth a stop for a day or two. There are many sights to visit and see, most within walking distance of the centre. Place d'Arme and Place de Guilliam provide a number of places to eat and drink, the covered stage in Place d'Arme providing a location for music groups to perform in all weathers. There are regular markets in Place de Guilliam, and when we were there - there was a daily film show each evening. The center is generally 'flat' and pedestrianised. The hotel is right at the main transport (and public transport is FREE in Luxemburg) hub in the country. In spite of this my room was very quiet. I was warned about building works next door, but I noticed nothing of that. Free bus (No 29) from and to the airport outside the railway station. Free tram into the city centre.
