Such a beautiful location, so peaceful with a creek, chickens and a sweet cat named Simba. Leena welcomed us so warmly and we enjoyed talking with her. She told us a bit of the history of town and castle, which was so interesting. She also recommended several places for dinner in town and we enjoyed that and walking around the streets. We slept great in a huge room with a huge bathroom, both very clean and comfortable. In the morning Leena made us an amazing breakfast with eggs from their chickens, honey, croissants, jam that her mother made from their own fruit, bread from an old traditional oven in town, it was all so delicious! Leena even told us where we might find chains as we were headed to Andorra and realized at the last minute that we were required to have them in the car.

We loved, loved, loved this place. We stayed five nights in the large room with ensuite bathroom. From the lovely owners (Anne-Marie's gracious gentility and Michel's wonderful, animated story telling) to the delicious breakfasts to the Chateau and grounds, everything was great. We kept our windows open for the nighttime fresh air and we couldn't hear anything--no traffic, no people, nothing--just the occasional cicada. Two horses, two dogs and one very sweet donkey in the pasture area behind the house completed the picture. The worn parts of the mansion's backside exterior just added to the charm of our whole stay. This would be a perfect movie set, especially for exterior shots of the front of the chateau and the gardens. Highly recommend this chateau to anyone who wants to treat themselves.
