This beautiful property and accomodation would suit visitors seeking tranquility, beauty and a delicious, healthy chemical-free authentic Sri Lankan Cuisine. Surrounded by beautiful rice (paddy) fields and peacocks strolling around, the whole property is tranquil, restful, with a beautifully appointed and well kept garden that lives in harmony with its surrounds. Run by a wonderful family, who did so much to ensure we were happy, satisfied, and organised transport as well as safari for us. in spite of tricky logistics due to being holiday period. It accomodates Sri Lankan as well as international visitors, which is wonderful as I am Sri Lankan living abroad, and it was great to have good conversations with other Sri Lankans. The food was amazing! We had dinners there for 3 nights and we were never disappointed. The service was excellent, the people as kind as you could possibly be, and the food was exceptional Sri Lankan meals. We did 2 full day safaris at Wilpattu and the lodge packed a big breakfast for us and a Sri Lankan lunch for us both days. Wilpattu ended up being our favorite national park to visit out of the 4 we went to, and the location of Wilpattu Wildhideaway was perfect.

Location Location! Right at the entrance to Wilpattu. Very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed one night in one of the lodge rooms. We had dinner there. Traditional Sri Lankan fare. They also arranged the 4x4 half day tour of the reserve. That was more than adequate time to spend there.

This is a family run guest house where the proprietor cannot do enough for you. From arranging our airport transfer to our Wilpattu safari to a great driver for the next portion of our trip to doing our laundry to even trying to get us black market reserved train tickets, no request was too difficult. The food was terrific and the rooms comfortable and clean.

Incredible property, clean and luxurious tents, incredible food, very knowledgeable guides. I highly recommend. Do remember to budget for a game ride($70pp), it's a must see/do.
